now i get it... so thats how color bleeding happens...
I think that's the main cause. The only other explanation I guess is that the cmos sensor is more crap than the K750 sensor. I hope this is not the case. Early cheap digital cameras have this "bleeding" due to the excess compression used to fit more images on the tiny onboard memory.
K750 have cmos sensor but the algorithm of camera driver is much different from k800/810. So, all the thing about "bleeding" in the k800/810 is from camera driver... with a little bit process from modders the driver of k800/810 it will be much better from that stock driver 2.5. All this mods, want some time to make it work good!!!! |

cant we just take the k750 camera driver and install it in the k800\\810?
maybe patch it up to 3.2mpx... |

maybe the file size does have anything to do with the quality.
here is a sample image of the DSC-P32 3.2mpx cybershot camera:
http://65.6.152.25/DSC00681.JPG
its around 1.4MB....
light coditions are bad,but quality compared to k800\810 is much better. |

well yes I realise that K800 have cmos sensor, but that doesn't mean it's as good quality as K750 sensor. There are more difference in sensors than just cmos/ccd
However that said I do believe the K800 has as good a quality sensor as K750, so I do think it is possible to get some improvement.

no this has been tried. In any case, they are vastly different, including the actual hardware (spot, infinity/AF toggle, resolution, ui, etc etc)
Too many differences for the camera driver of K750 to adequately support the full features of the K800 camera, even if it would actually work (which it doesn't)

patches work with the firmware. it has nothing to do with the hardware itself.

Well, I'm giving this a rest for a while as it is doing my head in. No matter what compression level I try I can't really get a worth while improvement. I actually went out and bought a 7mp camera yesterday. It is now that I really appreciate that it is totally unreasonable to expect any real decent quality from the K800. After all, it has a tiny sensor, a tiny lens and is configured to produce images of a small size. But, with all that it doesn't do too bad at all. If it wasn't for the jagged edges I wouldn't complain about the images. |

I hope we can see some improvement. maybe not as good as in K750-W800 but something we could be glad about.

You wont see any improvements. You have 1.15 mega pixels more than us(k750/w800/w810 owners). Why would you want to improve more? If you want improvements then get a digicam

why?... I'll tell you why, because through a modder's eyes there's always room for improvements or just for the fun of it. and... as a matter of fact, I do have a 7.1MP Digicam: a Canon PowerShot SD1000.

We are not trying to improve camera resolution, that's a hardware function. Megapixels is not the only criteria for a good quality digital photo. You may not have observed the K750 camera driver threads, but I can guarantee you the modders there have improved the quality of many aspects of the camera driver to an incredible degree.
For K750, better colour, manual sharpness control, enhanced night mode that removes the terrible white lines present in stock drivers, half press exposure lock (like focus lock but for exposure), 16x digital zoom, manual focus, scenes (something that SE only introduced with K800), spot photometry etc etc.
All these things were added to the K750 driver by modders, and are options that SE never chose to make available in production drivers.
So you see, there is good reason to believe that SE haven't exploited the full capabilities of the K800 camera with the driver they have supplied.
