Hey this is great. Had my P990 for a couple of weeks now and with the last update I had one "Restart to improve performance.." Hope this does not happen anymore with the new firmware. Overall I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Oh No! It looks like the update just trashed my phone.

The updater downloaded the firmware and when it started to update the phone it failed. If I power on the phone a box appears with "Error No organizer software SCCRING: 477"

If I try again and hold the C button when plugging it in it just reverts back to the start.

Any ideas? (previous updates worked without trouble)

Update: I restarted everything and it's currently uploading to the phone.

Update 2: After exiting the update program and starting again it worked. I was worried for a while!

Trying to update but SEUS is telling that I have the latest firmware installed which is R5A17. My phone CDA is CDA162008/75 Philippines Generic Trade. Is the latest firmware available only to CDA162007/1 World 1 Generic?

You can try again but it looks like you're going to the service centre.

Currently the update is available only to GW 1 and 2

The Opera menus have been tidied up (Bookmarks is now under View, for example) and browsing is faster and generally more responsive.

The phone is generally quicker and now seems to reliably end all apps from the Task Manager when you ask it to, whereas with the last version you'd sometimes have to ask it twice to end Messaging or Web. Startup seems quicker.

Autofocus still doesn't work in video mode! The trick of holding the shutter button down from still mode and rolling the jog dial doesn't work either.

And something new I've only just noticed - with night mode on, the autofocus doesn't work properly in still camera mode. Can anyone else verify this?

I tried that but it didn't work. However after restarting the update utility it went through ok. It's just starting up now. Panic over!

Or roll over to it with the scroll wheel. No need to whip out your stylus.
