yep all works fine..... so to confirm, sound quality is fine, and the product build is same as genuine one which is in the test on page 1 of this thread...
Maybe you should buy from this seller.....or just not in hk..

@jedi-master
OK, congrats to u m8!
It seems that you've been lucky enough to have bought the real thing.
I'm now up at about 94$ in expenses without having a working HS.
It is very annoying to spend this kind of money right down the drain.
We'll see if he's fair enougt to give me a refund.

i've been reading this thread for someone who goes back to hong kong regularly i know how many fakes there are over there! fake, memory sticks, fake headphones, basically general advice is not to buy any accessories from HK/China
I bought a MS duo from a seller in UK. although descirbed as new and sealed the packaging was open, but since the quality of packing was of high standards and seems genuine i let it pass, only to find the MSduo didn't work. on closer inpection and comparision with a friends MSduo i found the printing slightly fuzzy and upon rubbing actually smeared!! best guess was that he bought fakes from HK/China and stuck them into genuine packaging, which would explain the open package. fortunatly I managed to get a refund.
more examples on ebay Sony MDR-EX90LP RRP£80 on ebay from china for as little as £10-£20, same for Sony MDRNC22 Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones RRP £60 on ebay £20, obviously fakes!! I'm even suspicious about the MDRNC22 Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones on ebay from a seller in japan for £30.
as for phones being fake, thats too difficult for them to make without it being totally obvious its a fake.
i find it so annoying that ebay doesn;t do more about stuff like this, along with all the fake sony USB flash drives on ebay with sellers claiming them to have 32GB!! and a full refund if not happy, yeah right they'll give u a refund.
since ebay seems unlikey to ever do anyhting about it, its also difficult for them to verfiy the seller is indeed selling fakes in some case. my general rule is NEVER buy any form of accessories for any electrical items from HK or China.

No problem mate. Guys here also helped me how to deal with the seller. I sent out the message to 10 buyers and I wish you guys will have good luck with that HS or deal with him.
Few things I found between the real and fake: (I have both, and then return the fake one)
1. The real one can pair with my phone automatically, without enter the code.
2. The singlepoint/multipoint switch feels different, real one is tighten, and maybe I didn't notice, but when I switched the mode on fake one, the LCD screen didn't even show the status.
3. The real LCD is brighten.
Above are what I noticed right away after I got the genius one, besides the looking (They look just like what it says in original post) and sound/connection quality. There are other differences but I am not 100% sure since I didn't play the fake one long enough. (ie. I don't remember I heard the ringtone while I adjust headset volume on stand by).
The easiest way to tell is from the plastic carrying case, fake one's inner is plain flat without any text.
Good luck.

to everyone
Received news from Paypal that they are refunding me for the headset as the seller (fonez2u) did not even contact them regarding the dispute.
so now I have my new headset bought from expansys, my refund from paypal and a duff headset bought from ebay.
My advice is to shop around on legal sites where you will be covered...ebay is the refuge of the fakers! |

I tried to dispute with Paypal but their automated thing said I wasn't covered! I guess I'm selecting the wrong product type, or something. I have given this seller negative feedback and people are contacting me for the link to this thread, so hopefully he'll be losing some sales now. I can't believe I wasted £55 in total on this scam. |

uuuaaaaaa!!! i just bought my ds970... from honk kong!!! i ordered it 1 week ago and recived today. and yesterday i found out about all this fake stuff from hk!
box looks orginal, wasn't open before. i checked http://213.19.178.16/se/ and !!!!!!! mine ds970 looks same as the fake one, even the manual is printed on sh.. paper! but i checked other things and everythings works fine. when i play music and recive a call there's no problem at all. when i switch the multi/single point mode, the LCD shows status. sound quality is preety good, almost same as from orginal earphones. no problems with connecting to my k800i.
seller's name is usbdepot. i checked his feedback, nobody who bough ds970 has left feedback as yet, coz he started sell it only 2 weeks ago.
i'm really wondering if i have fake one. any ideas? |

Hi guys,
Read my post http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=140583.
I'm really going mad with this case.
The seller said he shipped the item and gave the Hong Kong post shipping number to Paypal. The funny thing is that that number is the same as the one in the letter I got from the Belgian customs.
Paypal wants me to provide additionnal info.
Are the playing with me or what ? The letter says everything : shipment with number... has been controled by the customs and officially confiscated.
What more can I add ? All the details are on the document, even phone number !!!
I swear to God, I will never buy anything from Hong Kong again on ebay. |

A bit of topic but... Fake as fake. (hope you don't mind)
Yesterday I recieved a new battery, a BST 33, sold on http://www.tradera.com (big auction site here in Scandinavia) Sold as the real thing but shown to be a fake. Didn't even take the charge.
Here's some pics of it:
Front
Back
The one on the left is the FAKE.
There's not much diff. in size, a few 10'th of a millimeter but there's an obvious diff. on the back, on the glance.
The "BIG" diff. is the weight, the FAKE on the left side weights in on 15gram (digi-scale) and the original weights in on 18 gram.
That's 20% diff!!
Talked to the seller who will refund me.
He also confessed that he had a contact in H O N G K O N G, that he bought his stuf from...
Why am I not surprised...?
