Finally got mms working on 02 - they told me to go into mms, hit options, wap profiles and select the standard 02 gprs setting - not the 02 mms setting that se sent me. Done this on mine & mrs's phone - both work!!

Just phoned up O2 on 4445 (50p a min!) and got some guy that sounded like he just got out of bed telling me that to get Gprs for my PAYG sim-card that I have to go through my account on their website to enable it. He told me the same for MMS.
I looked through my o2 account settings and there's nothing in their regards Gprs or MMS
I've downloaded the settings from SE Wap configurator and it always comes up "Gprs Failed"
Anyone got any tips before I phone them up again?
Thanks

lscooby@ lol o2 do offer great value for money.......but there dumb as fcuk!
I rang them yesterday to get MMS sorted, if you are on a lesuire tarrif u must change to the new lesuire tarrif, its the same, same price as well but u get a free 0.5mb GPRS bundle. But it still says "user bared" when sending an mms....
I upgraded to the new lesuire 750,
750min
35 x network mins
500sms
500wap
0.5mb GPRS
£20 - Great Value (but they just have no idea!)

I'm thinking about getting o2's simonly package that's one step down from the one you are getting Mark, it's got 500tx, 500 free mins + 50 xnet mins, 0.5mb for £15 a month.
This would be the first time I would have had access to Gprs and was wondering what kind of usage (in terms of Kb) you have on average.

You can only have mobile internet GPRS access if you have MMS enabled on O2.
You can not connect a laptop or PDA to GPRS on an MMs tarriff on O2 so essentially they were correct to say that GPRS and MMS are not provided together....in a way! |

Hey 2tangy
At the monent i do not use GPRS -simply because there is no real need to. On a T68, u can only view simple wap pages and download email, so the 500wap minutes are perfect for that use.
However, i REALLY want a decent phone that i can use MSN Messenger, and browse the real web. (P800, Unlocked SPV) Preferably something microsoft based(but thats my own opinion so dont hate me! LOL)
So when a decent phone does come out, i will not use wap minutes....only GPRS. I have guesses that for a whole month with 15mb would be enough for good use. So i will eventually move to o2 300:
300 xNETWORK mins,
300 wap (wont be needed)
300 sms
and 15MB GPRS.....£50 A month.....that is very cheap considering all the GPRS data u r getting there.
Anyway back to the original question, if u do wanna use GPRS for wap on a t68, i think 5-7mb would cover you for a whole month of heavy usage.

ouch! 5-7mb heavy usage? that would be extra £3 per mb.
I was mainly thinking of surfing these forums on the go (or when I'm bored in the middle of a lecture ) hopefully that won't result in much 2mb max.
Anyone else want to share their Gprs usage stats?

U think how long theese forums can get....each page is about 2kb(wap)
If u are just using it for lunch breaks etc when r board, so not much, then maybe 3-4mb would be enough for u.....but if u r only using wap pages....then the 500 wap minutes u get from o2 will be more than enough.....and to be honest, there is hardly any difference in speed for basic wap pages.
My opinion is that u would be waisting your money to browse wap pages using GPRS when u already will be getting 500 free wap minutes....
