@Xugaa
I agree with you. But the pics on the first post were all taken by the same person and all the pics of w800 seem to score better than those of k800 ones.
I had the chance to use k800 for a few weeks and quite frankly I wasnt all that impressed with it. I am not saying k800 is NO upgrade, but i feel it isnt an upgrade enough (considering its price tag). Few things I found annoying were...
1) The joystick. I was really lookin for an improvement on this since k750 joystick was crappy but was disappointed. I would ve preferred a d-pad like the one on w810 or w550.
2) The sound. The quality is simply unacceptable for a phone of such specs.
3) The menu and overall phone performance is SLOW.
4) The Earphones
Features that are real upgrades
1) The screen
2) 3G . I would ve preferred to see EDGE also. Its mainly for this reason that I am gonna get a w810.
3) The camera. I found the camera better than that of a w800 only at poor light conditions. Otherwise I didnt find much difference. Not to mention, my canon A400 digicam (3.2 MP) performs several times better than a k800 at all conditions.
4) Java platform 7. Lets us run multiple java apps simultaneously. (Although k800 has a huge heap memory, the java apps still perform slow.)
Overall, k800 didnt impress me to the level I had anticipated.
P.S. : Please excuse if my language aint perfect as English is not my mother tongue |

obviously the cannon camera would be better, since it has a better sensor (CCD) compared to the K800 (CMOS); but then, some digital cameras are bad, even worse than K800.

Gees, am I the only one...?!
My K800...
Brilliant pictures, major camera upgrade
Fantastic screen and speed
Excellent sound quality, both ringtones and music
On that last point, my K800 absolutely owns/pwns/kills/destroys/annihlates/fubar's my Ipod Nano!
I just don't get all this negativity...

My K800i R1ED001 is SUPER...The best in all. I have produced great pictures with it. Of course, don't compare my photos with pro's...at least they look awesome on my laptop and printable up to 5R. |

Yes jack but you have to be a retard to interpret it that way. Bad spelling = bad memory = not too clever.
And a keybord is easier to type on that my cell's keypad.

Hmm, pretty high and mighty of you. It would also be bad of me to assume that your not sexy in physical appearance, nor very fun to hang out with, however I'm not that shallow. So for a quick moment I'd like for you to read the following quickly without trying to hard.

That wasnt so hard as the human mind can quickly extrapolate learned information from the above. Speaking about intelligence, just because we're all educated and can type in fairly proper grammatical structure doesnt prove ANYTHING about being clever/intelligence. I understand the word "clever" as being cunning to USE what you've learned to accomplish any goal irregardless of rules or restraints. I understand intelligence to be able to interpret an anknown object/subject/thing/situation and able to make it known, to decipher a cryptic problem/situation and manage through it successfully, to be able to start with NOTHING and have something within any kind of travel (not just physical movement). Basically ingeniuty. Examples (the invention of artificatial light beyond burning gases, magnification, harnessing & converting energy, flight, the ability to simulate gravity in space when there isn't any, etc).
When speaking about intelligence JUST solely because someone chooses or not to choose proper grammar is presumptious, and quite frankly arrogant! Please, take your school taught knowledge - remember most of what we know is LEARNT behaviour (walking eating, reading, speaking, spelling, using tools, etc either by watching, being taught, or by trial & error/hardship) - and force it down your own throat. If you want an intelligent conversation about grammar & spelling then your free to create a thread based on this, or have a GOOD read in the news for any article mentioning Rogers Communications Inc about a legal binding contract that COULD cost them 2.1 Million dollars based on ..... get this .... a SECOND COMMA in a sentence! Its gotten so bad that going to court between two company's is going to be held based on the French document of the same (Canada's other Official language).
@psychonymphe, I'm not picking solely on you, however your post above stood out the most as arrogant, at least to me. There are others that did as well.
To members, moderators, & the thread op I'm sorry for going so off topic.
> Regarding the K800 camera abilities JUST how much can it be improved via firmware? I'm very curious.

well, It would be nice if the last post was the last one off-topic. I myself don't know how much it can improve, but certainly there will allways be room for an upgrade. This might be an extreme example, but not even a digital camera can match a human eye (not taking in zoom function), so at least that camera phones are catching up to digital cameras in queality is great for me. Cheers

At-a-boy Mcrosser, nice salvage.
I'm beginning to think that consumer digital camera's, although may still be around and offer exclusive functions, more and more ppl WILL prefer quality cellphones that HAVE a camera at high MP resolution.
Pro cameras or those with interchangeable lenses will NEVER be replaced.

ITs your pathetic attitude on this forum that seems to take every thread off track. I simply inquired about the 80GB iPOD and instead of calmly saying where u got it from, you had to write some crap with it. On any other forums, you'd be banned for this attitude. |

I agree as well. What we are seeing is a sort of convergence of technolgies. However with this convergence comes compromise. There is no way a phone will ever replace a dedicate camera or a media device (i.e. iPod) but the camera phone/media device is a great niche device when someone wants to bounce around without having to bring the dedicated devices.

Read your response about the iPod and then you will understand. As I said if I misunderstood then my bad as english is not your first language. As for taking this thread off track, I suggest you go back and read again. You have a complete lack of the nuances of marketing and why products are positioned the way they are. Your lack of understanding about what represents an upgrade is telling. Finally, I offered you the chance to move any additional comments you may have to PM but you insist on bringing it out here.
Look dude, don't bother responding. I do not think we really have more to say.
