Yes, they have to fix a few things (RAM or better to say memory leak), agree with it. |

17 days here, and still counting. (4.5MB free RAM).
but recently I cannot open any email no matter what size it is. Always get "Not enough memory" message.
Anybody managed to get longer uptime? Should I reset it or just keeping it going

6 days now and I have 11.1MB of RAM with Swiss Pro running!
Have used:
- PIM (all)
- web
- Messaging
- BT
- Quick office
- Tube 2
But have not used the Media Player or the camera
So I conclude that the Media player and camera must have the most detrimental affect on RAM!

Opera is definitely a voracious RAM eater. It's fantastic specially together with wifi, but eats RAM very nicely. |

Well after using the Camera & Media Player I lost nearly 2M of RAM to leaks! And they also had some affect on the radio side so after 7+ days I had to re-boot even though I had around 9MB of free RAM. Opera eats RAM but does not seem to cause the high level of leaks. Messaging app seems to cause around 2MB of RAM loss if used at start-up.
Merry Christmas!

Just thought I'd bring this thread back to life!
My P990 seems to be doing much better with R6D23 and Swiss Manager using Level 3 Reclaim
How are you all doing with yours?

My uptime seems to have improved dramaticaly of late, for two reasons:
1: I moved out of London to the contryside - I was sudddenly getting 24hrs of use as oposed to 12. This could be to do with the lack of 3g in my new area.
2: I then updated the firmware to R6E28 from R6D23 - the phone hasn't crashed since, currently 2d 17h 6m!!!!! |

I am currently at 15 hours 26 minutes, but only because my battery died after forgetting to charge it for 4 days. Only just installed Swiss manager so cant tell how long it had been up for before but I have had it running about a month with no crashing or needing to reset.

Actually, 7d 21m 40s, 6.7Mb (11%). Not too much free ram, maybe because I've the Free SMan...

All I am doing to maintain the memory now is a daily manual level 3 reclaim with SMP, I've turned off the auto reclaim features altogether.
It crashed during the night, so I'd guess it lasted around 3d 12h - still a lot better than 12h max!

I think I may have found a key to keeping my p990 running. It seems that 'connection Manager' might have more functionality than just logging data transfers, and that as long as the phone has this app running it keeps it from doing the silent crash thing. You know, when it looks like everything's fine but in actual fact it has lost it's phone functions.
At the moment I've got SMP doing cleanups when idle, with the connection manager NOT included in end all apps. I'm also doing a level 3 reclaim daily, and then restarting the connection manager afterward.
So far, I've only managed about 24hrs of uptime, but this has been due to auto restarts, which I find a whole lot less inconvienient than it crashing once a day! |
