parallels desktop will not detect your phone thru UBS (and other phone models fo that matter) boot camp is the best way to do it for now.

i cant really comment on the improvement after the software update/upgrade since out of the box, i immediately fired up boot camp and updated my phone.

I used my k800i to transfer my contacts after. and synced (with boot camp) using SE PC Suite.

what errors do you get? is it the Homepage? i believe since the settings changed the Homepage link to, in my case, wap.smart.com.ph and i get that 'tag line errors' and there is no way i can change the homepage address.

i no longer have boot camp in my MBP. i didn't want to reboot everytime i switch OS'.

it said, "can't find the server." oh well... it's ok. i can just browse the net thru wifi.

thanks for the help.

Its where cell phones with bad attidude are sent to learn to behave and fit into society properly.

No seriously its a piece of software that Apple have released to allow people with Macs to run Windows and windows software on a Mac. It is used on boot up to choose either a Mac or windows enviorement and from my understanding will be included in the next OS from Apple.

I had a w800i and it was bug free too. (at least i didnīt notice a single one). Now iīve got a w810 and itīs full of stupid bugs. Iīm wondering why this happen cause the phones are all most the same... Does SE programers donīt speak with each others?! Im sure they test their phones before they go for sales so why cant they detect those stupid bugs that we can with 5minutes of playing with the phone?
Now im considering buy a P990i and get rid of this buggy w810 but iīm afraid of changing my phone for another with even more bugs and the low ram for sure not help. I donīt wanna a phone that crash while listening music and sending sms. My old P800 many and many times not allowed me to send sms just because of low ram and i had to restart the phone. Lately i also had a p900 and this never happened. Its very frustrating to spend a lot of money with a phone and then the basic features of it like messaging, camara, agenda, media player, speakers donīt work fine because of bugs or low ram.
Sorry about my english

YEah, right...they must be all sorry for paying between 550 and 650 euros for such a fabulous phone

they could be here all satisfied, bitching about a phone they wish to have, and calling "betatesters" to the people that have it

brb, gonna enjoy my P990:)

I would be sory if I paid that much for a phone with so many unresolved issues. You seem to be insinuating I and any one else who dares to criticize over the P990 is jelous of those who have shelled out so much money on a device that clearly already needs a firmware update.
What have I got to be jelous of? as soon as the phone is at a level I belive is stable enough for my business, I can get one for nothing! I can go and buy one now but what for? it is clearly not what it should be and I am moaning at not the poor bugers who have a phone that will be right but is not yet please try to understand no one is having a moan at you!

for all having problems synchronizing their p990i with Address Book and iCal, you can use zyb.com as an alternative to iSync.

Its free, secure and it just works.

Hello all, I am new to this forum and relatively new to Symbian phones.
I bought a used P910 a while ago and am still learning about this OS. Like many of us here I keep reading and reading to learn about P990 and hope one day I can get one.
I am a Mac user, and just want to say that I CAN use Parallels desktop to sync with my P910. I use the latest version and its USB function is improved. It detects the hardware and install all necessary drivers. I don't know if the newer PC Suit is any different than the old one. All I am saying is in my case even Parallels can work with P910. No need to reboot to Boot Camp.

thanks. but zyb requires the user to be online for "synching".

Have read some of the comments in this thread, and realize that the P990 I ordered has a big chance of ending up in a drawer together with other "old and useless" phones...
16 MB RAM? ROFL, my W900i has 470 MB internal memory, and never crashes. Why didn't SE put in a real chunk of RAM for the new flagship model? I don't get it.
Tried a friend's P990 yesterday. Stuffed my MSDUO Pro into it to try video playback. On my memstick I have some full length movies coded for W900i. Same QVGA resolution as the P990, clip size about 150 MB, should work, but dit it? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Big disappointment! Phone crashed and had to be booted. P990 is not a device for me. No way.

You are confusing storage memory with operating RAM. The P990i has 64Mb RAM and around 60Mb free internal flash storage.

I couldn't tell you exactly how much operating RAM the W900i has but I suspect it is significantly less than the P990i.
