Go for the W900!....
There isn't much difference between the K800 and W900 part from the swivle-thingy. And probably you are doubting between 2 dumb and 1 smartphone so you wouldn't mind going for a non-smartphone.
+ The W900i is available!!!
I had time to play with the K800i today... and overall it sucks... well okay it has a 3.2 megapixel camera but that's it. It still has a joystick... the lensprotector feels weak.... also we weren't allowed to copy photo's to our own phones, they disabled the "send to" options and we weren't also allowed to use the M2 from the K800 in our devices.
A good device for the mass and yes it might be a selling hit due to it's camera functionality in still modus but it has also some downsides!

Just read the review on MR and overall, it sounds impressive, although I doubt this will the best imaging handset released by  this year, especially according to this quote from Eldar: -
"Video recording supports same set of effects as for the camera. There is only one available resolution which is 176x144 pixels at 15 fps rate. Such low resolution is implemented only because SE plans launching another brand for additional set of products targeted for making great photos combined with video recording in HD-quality."
Is there something he is not telling us? Apparently.

not a fan of the looks, don't like the sticker in the middle.. why release triband variants when you can do 3g+tri and quad i'm confused with that descision..
well i'm a SE junky so i'll get one anyways...

I see the usual SE release nag here (I miss this, I miss that, its so ugly etc.), which after a mont or two all of a suddent turns into "best phone ever made".

Don't think so. Phones with that kind of features so far uses one CPU + one GPU. W900 for instance uses a GPU from NVIDIA. Considering the small formfactor of K800/K790 I don't see how they could have fit CPU+GPU.
If you want 30 fps you simply have to buy a bigger phone (W900 or P990).
That's what I think. |

Ive looked through all of this stuff and it seems that their will be better HIGH-END phones coming soon.... So lets wait and see what is coming through....
It will be surprising what is on offer...... For sure.

why are k800 and k790 different phones? one has a camera on the front, the other one has EDGE...
is this it? if so, why did they produce 2 different phones instead of producing only 1 with both qualities? and which one should we choose? |

The two handsets are for two audiences and according to Mobilereview there is not difference in the price. If you use 3G then K800, if EDGE is your thing then K790.

As we know, K800 is dual mode phone: UMTS + GSM 900/1800/1900. But
it's strange that K790 is only a tri band phone, not a quad band phone. |

nah, not a fan of the p990. i'm sure i'll get one too though..
i was hoping the k790/800 would be UIQ something new to play otherwise it's a w900/k750/w800/w810 with new specs
i want UIQ it's something differnet then my w900 |

The OS itself does not matter much to me. But the looks does (the UI as well as the formfactor). If only W810 had a 3 MP camera, it would have been perfect IMO.
