schaggo, freakin' brilliant post! Couldn't agree more.

Sock it to them. I'm sick of all the bitchin' too....

It seems that every damn gui issue that someone doesn't like is a firmware bug.....and then when peeps bitch about nothing, mib or mario crap on about how buggy SE phones because of all the "bugs" reported....

I've never come across a phone yet that had the perfect gui, but I don't call it buggy just because I don't like it.

K750/W800 have some firmware issues but most handsets don't have the serious problems at all. The only serious issue that is generic to many K750's is the bluetooth headset disconnection problem with many brands of headsets, but this is headsets only, not bluetooth connections per se, which work perfectly.

Compared to other phones this is not that unusual, as many phones have bluetooth headset compatibility issues. Very few phones can use ANY bluetooth headset. (try the XDAii - not fun) The R1N issues are frustrating for peeps who have the problems, but for the rest of us who resisted the urge to jump on a newly released unknown firmware it's just a complete non-issue.

2. I'm sorry, but it is SURELY NOT YOU who decides if a phone is shit and returns it to the shop.

So who is it?

Hopefully you didn't mean that literally, or I would have to say that you really do have a problem

But I bought the Loox and it was my decision, I have to live with it and with it's glitches and it's possible inferiority to other devices.

Excellent conclusion.

hehe. I agree with both of you actually. The phone should definitely be returned if it doesn't function as advertised. Even those who installed R1N have a right to have their handsets atleast returned to pre update status.

However, those who did jump on the early firmware must surely also accept that they took a risk by doing so, and where it with good grace (providing SE replace or repair their handset promptly)

I also think many peeps bitch about any problem claiming it a firmware problem without really know if it's a computer problem, bluetooth dongle problem, corrupt memory card or whatever. This really irritates me, as it muddies the water as to what is real firmware issue and what isn't.

So I think it's important to return a phone if it doesn't work properly, you are entitled to get what you paid for. However I also think peeps shouldn't jump on esato making kneejerk claims about things of which they know nothing. You have a computer, a bluetooth dongle, a phone, a memory card. With all these factors, you need to do some proper testing before assuming that the phone is the factor at fault. Instead many just jump on here and bitch on.

Or claiming that features they don't like are bugs!! So what if the sound volume is a little low. I don't like it, and I hope it's better in post R1N, but I don't call it a bug. The sound level is adequate for most peeps, for me it's slightly too low.

My $5.80 worth....

@max_wedge: You finally hit the nail on the head. Balance is what its all about.

If I buy it, I am responsible for making that choice. If it does not function well, the logical thing is to return it. If I do choose to keep it, there's no use whining about it.

That's why the whole scenario i see around here is downright amusing to me. People buy something, CHOOSE to keep it and keep running around in circles and complaining. Phew.
