I'm happy with my w800i. I'm being serious when I say I would choose the w800i over the 900, the 900 is just too big, especially when opened, and offers little to counter that (a much larger screen would be cool). The w550/w600 is small with a similar design. It works there, because it remains a small phone. But this one is just too big, in my opinion. |

its an interessting device, but ...
if they really want to release anything ground breaking, a phone with 4GB flash memory would be the thing to go - the 4GB range is the range where most of us would leave their regular mp3 player behind
of course, its a 3g phone and it supports flash lite ... but to be honest, the w900 is a w800 with a different design larger screen and some other goodies(video support with 500MB is not really "cool")
please don't reply with "you can buy a 4GB stick" - i don't have money to waste

huh? A phone with 4GB internal memory would cost as much as this phone + a 4GB stick... so what's with the "I don't have money to waste"?

Its a good phone from my point of view, maybe not the best in looks and size, but it has very good features for such a phone.and 30fps qcif is real good and they have reworked interface and added some useful features. This is a good move from se. I think 512mb internal memory is real good as there is no other comparable products with such huge internal memory.

c'mon flash memory in phones is the futur - its not like it is impossible
when people pay 200 euros for a apple nano, they won't argue with a all in one package
€dit
its not like i'm completly pissed with the w900, its a good job by se
but we all know that the competion is not as far behind as we think
4GB flash will be standart pretty soon (for music phones) - and this time its not only nokia and samsung who se is fighting with, they also want to gain some shares of the other mp3 player creators and therefor 500 is not what gives them a large cake

A nano doesn't do anything else but store & play music... so ok.. tack on another $200 to the W900 to get your 4GB storage. Same story.

Totally underwhelmed.
I have an iPod for music thanks, I don't want a phone that carries a few hundred songs - I can't be doing wih this continual push towards walkman phones.
First there was the T68i, then the P800, now I own the s700 but nothing else catches they eye.
SE needs to pull its finger out before I upgrade my S700. |

To summarise the content of the short review above:
- Video conferencing works well although the sound was not the best.
- Possibility to take snapshots of the one you are video conferencing with...

Ummm... could be a problem here. NZ Law says you can't take photos of people without thier consent in certain circumstances. I'm sure other countries have similar laws.

Same rule applies here as when you record a conversation. At the remote end you probably here a sound whenever somebody takes the snap (click). So you will probably not be able to do it silently. |

Although.. Video calling DOES ask you if you wish to accept the video call, thats probably the way around that car. if you don't want to have your image elsewhere, you don't accept the video call

@Gigs
You're right, but how many kiwis do you think have thought through the full implications of video calls?
