Hi all,
Just wanted to ask if any of u guys know for sure when will 3G be introduced in India? Any inside info?
The reason i'm asking is that i am deciding whether to go for either the "coming soon" z800 or the w800 SE model as my next phone...
z800 is a 3G phone, but if 3G isn't going to come to India for the next year or so, it makes no sense buying it now - as it will be outdated by then and i don't want to be stuck with an infantile 3G phone when better phones will be in the market.
So i might as well go for the w800i, instead, for now...
Any advice?
Thanks... |

@Oogamous: Since You aren't exactly new to Esato, I just Welcome you to our thread ,
Right, Well our TRAI is not really ready to start handing out 3G licences to the teleco's yet. However, the phone manufacturers are selling 3G handsets in India since November of last year (the 6630 has been available since then). will also roll out its new 3G Handsets here along with the rest of the world. You can buy the handset and get comfy, cause the TRAI ain't in no hurry to give 3g to us jus' yet.

Well thanks...but i already feel welcome... i'm mainly a reader of threads and not much of a poster... and i do come here often and go through the indian threads in search of stuff that i need...so i already feel i know most of u guys... i mainly roam in the p910i threads cause that's the cell that i own right now... will be handing it over to my brother though in a couple of months... so was just finding out some info on the new cells and deciding which one to buy...
And i do know that Nokia has already released 3G phones...and so has LG... but I am a die hard Sony Ericsson fan, and somehow i just wouldn't want to buy any other cell... anyway probably i will go for the w800i...
thanks... |

Ok..For the starters..Microsoft site never ask you to punch your key online..Thats weird and unheard of..I use a Bootleg XP version with SP2 slip streamed...! But I happened to order a SP2 CD for my laptop and it just asked me to fill out name/address etc No cd key..no mention of software..and yes I ordered on my bootlegged XP system..!
Whiz Bhai, Why not check out those new LG handsets with MP3, I'm sure they are quite a buy..looks great on TV..!
Just happened to catch the new Haier Cell Phone Ad , its some model with actual flash for the camera or something so..Maybe you could check this out...!
Govi Bhai, Did you happen to speak with your Service Engineer...!
regards,
DJ

@whiz; Well, sonam and me had a little tiff about my mentioning the hofo incident here at esato, so she said she's never gonna post here again and i told her to read between the lines.
@blu: if what dj says is true, then you should be able to install SP2 on your machine, then your irda adap may work. IMO, 98 is too old to expect anything productive.
