I'm on vanilla xp. Could that be the reason why drivers don't load?

@blu: I wouldnt be surprised if it were. Like I said SP2 is free for XP users. You can even download it off the microsoft site.

I have sp2 installation but it won't load coz i have bootleg xp :-(.

But the guy i bought the system from installed it. Do i have 2 suffer because of that?

@blu:Not really, you can insist for an original copy of XP, but i think he will charge you for it. If he already charged you for XP then he cheated you. You can haul his ass to the police station for giving you pirated software.

@ayush: No idea. I use SP2 on my slightly aged P4 M 1.8 Laptop, seems to run without any hitches, but with the new Microsoft Antispyware, and Norton Antivirus 2005 Premium, both of which get incorporated into the Windows XP SP2 core, I feel very safe from any sort of threat. The only thing about SP2, is Security and Less chances of virus threats.
Infact now Microsoft is incorporating SP2 with their new Windows XP DVD's. All new Windows XP DVD's come with SP2 on them.
