Of course I know Aya would not be caught dead with a P990i, that was meant to be a joke. He's going for the E90, thats his kind of toy, but its still in the "coming soon" list, right? |

I'm dying of laughter here. But are you certain?

@AYA:I see you going for a different operating system since the E90 is not available yet. A Windows Mobile device with a qwerty thumb board?
I'll be shocked and disappointed to see you with a P990i. Believe me I'll scream if I see you with one.

Sir, the E61 costs about 55k in the market now. 37k for a faultness unit looking almost as new sounds like a runaway deal.
PS: Mamba, PM your valid phone numbers to me. The one I have doesnt go through.

AYA is not waiting for "COMING SOON" device else he would be PHONELESS if he sells the esteem e61. But one thing i am sure of is that it must have a wifi.

If no-one takes up the offer, I'll simply keep the phone till I have the budget to upgrade/replace it. I'll still be bored though...

So much for predictions. You could as well wait for the E90.
Happy Birthday! |

@brym!: It's not over yet now Chill. Thanks!
As for the E90, while specs-wise, it is the top dog at Symbian so far, there are factors I wish to avoid if possible. The E61 has me looking for a device without a hinge - a device I do not have to open up to use. I wish the E61i had more than the 20mb free RAM for running applications. 20mb is just a little small (but even the E61i too is "coming soon"; so what gives?).
I want to stray for a change - get off Symbian and see what life is like on other platforms. Not much choices there - Windows Mobile, Palm (crap), and Linux, I believe are all there are. And believe me when I say that it is tough making up my mind.
Keep predicting!

AYA asked: Why, if people are so tariff insensitive, why do some of us claim here that every Tom, Dick and Harry are jumping on free night call freebies and free this and lower that?
Enjoying a freebie that entails you getting a N300 sim is a far cry from being tariff sensitive and investing in a N6000 phone
AYA said: There certainly exist Nigerians that are tariff-insensitive. But you cannot even hope to be accurate when you say "too many" Nigerians are so. How did you arrive at "too many" out of a country of 140million people? Provide your statistics please.
I have almost 4 years of experience marketing CDMA phones in 3 nigerian towns. I think without giving you hard numbers i can postulte my experiences with the thousands of people I've approached, sat down and gisted this CDM vs GSM issue. You seem not to understand that though you may be tariff sensitive and i definitely am, you cannot impose your rationality on to others. It seems you didnt do the last task i gave. here is another that might clarify things for you. Meet 20 -30 random people you know that dont use CDMA and ask them why not. Maybe that will convince you. The excuses you'd hear will mostly be laffable. "They are not in my village" or "they dont cover the highway roads" (when they rarely leave the town they are in.). "I cant carry an extra phone". (when they have 2 or 3 phones and are paying thru the nose for them) "Cant afford it" (when they spend in excess of 6k a month on calls and stand to cut thier phone call cost in half to 3k by mking the switch!!!!)
Try the 20 people and get back to us with the results. Then you can give us your "stats".
@pxth: there is nothing to blast when its the truth. SE hasnt come out with any innovation for a good while now.

Right after you give yours. You have taken a stand based on your experiences with people. I have given mine based on my experiences with people. Perhaps I should take to selling CDMA lines, seeing that it seems I have better results getting people to switch than it seems you do
