@brix25, I know what you mean. I have EXACTLY the same problem. Are you on Vodacom? Are you able to log onto the Vodacom4me website to check your talktime balances?

Yeah I can check my balance on Vodacom 4u portal ...it's quite nifty. This afternoon the sales assistant said I could only expect my K700 back in about 3-4 weeks which totally sucks, all that time to replace a faulty battery.

I'm generally very calm... But yeah when I heard I might be getting my phone in 3/4 weeks I got pissed off but didn't blow a gasket. Now I need ways to occupy myself while my precious gets a new battery. I'm already missing Splinter Cell PT-3D.

Seems like phone prices drop every month. Popped into the shop and saw a K700i selling for R2199 excl starter pack. Will weigh up my 3G options at Christmas.

@786KBR: I think the price I quoted was fair... R1699 is ridiculous.

Buddies, can any of you receive internet radio on your cellphones ? Believe it or not I can now. My brother pointed me to Virgin Radio. There I got a application for free which allows me to tune in a few international stations. The sound is unbelievable for a old cellphone like mine. Everyone at work think I have a new phone or something. Today I've downloaded another radio tunner which is even better then Virgin's.I can tune in 100's of stations all over the world, including my home town-Nürnberg ! At 16Kbps data rate costs me about 30 South African cents a minute. Not very cheap but cheap enough to listen to the finance and other news.Unfortunately the applications are for S60 devices only.I hope someone will program a java version,so that you chaps can join the fun! Greetings from Jeffreys. Mario

When you're paying R6000 for a phone you've definitely got money to burn. That's almost the price of an Apple iBook...damn these expensive phones. This reminds me of the first Panasonic (forgot the model)cameraphone on the local market which went for R7000 when it was released 3 years ago.

@Brix my 7650 was R6200 when I bought it in nov '93.My dealer charged me a bit more then usual. In jan '94 was on a special for just over R5000.I had for almost 2weeks a P900 almost a year ago. (actually exactly 10days) first the keypad broke off while I had to get quickly out of the vehicle at work.No big deal I thought I did not use it much anyway. But a few days later the nice, big screen broke too while arresting a criminal (he punched me in the chest exactly on the cell) only then I realized the advantages of the well protected screen of the 7650.Since then I am back to my old blokia and it hasn't missed a key stroke since day one.I guess I am just lucky with this one :-)

@mario: I hope the reference to '93 and '94 were just typo's because I remember seeing the 7650 for the first time in 2002... We were all excited about the T68i, MMS, Bluetooth, Java and the first Symbian OS.
