Hmmm... sounds like it could be a faulty phone then if it does it on 2 Macs.

Well, on Thursday I phoned Orange from work to discuss the problem with them. They asked for the phone's IMEI number... and unless my eyesight's much worse than I thought, I couldn't find it under the battery! The 750's label (with serial no., IMEI, etc.) is virtually entirely up inside the phone (where the battery slides in). So I had to leave it until the next day, since I'd left the label with the IMEI on it at home with the rest of the packaging.
So, I phoned again yesterday (Friday), armed with the IMEI. Customer Support were great (I've had nothing but good experiences with Orange). As soon as she heard that it wouldn't even pair with my old K700, she said it'd be replaced immediately. I was expecting to have to wait until Monday.... but the swap was scheduled for today, and at 9am the guy came with my new phone and took away the faulty one. Customer Services had told me to keep the Memory Stick from the faulty phone, so now I've got two!
The new phone pairs fine! I've got all address book features, Salling Clicker's set up and working, and Syncing seems stable.
The only remaining issue is that browsing the phone's memory stick via the Finder over USB causes my machine to freeze hard. About 1/2 the time, unplugging the phone brings it back to life, but often it'll need a forced-reset.
There's some clues in the system.log about what's going on...
Plugging in the phone causes this to appear in the log:
Code:
| Feb 4 15:28:29 Clementine kernel[0]: AppleUSBCDCWCM: Version number - 3.1.9
Feb 4 15:28:30 Clementine kernel[0]: AppleUSBCDCACMData: Version number - 3.1.9, Input buffers 8, Output buffers 16

Feb 4 15:28:30 Clementine kernel[0]: AppleUSBCDCDMM: Version number - 3.1.9 |

...which looks fine. But half-way through a copy operation when the machine goes funny, the log shows:

Gonna browse around and see what this means. I know it probably won't lead to a solution, but if something doesn't work I like to know why, if not how to fix it!
Thanks!

One issue I'm facing with all my SE devices so far is iSync's inability to sync ical events that belong in different daylight saving zones. For example now being end of February and having iSync set to sync 8 weeks of events in advance (which takes it to mid-late April) renders some all-day events to be split in two (one hour in the first day and 23 hours in the second day)...I've fiddled around with Daylight saving settings and all, but I can't seem to be able to find a solution. Anyone got any clues?
This all happens on 10.4.5 with latest iSync and a k750 on R1AA008... |

Have you tried it with K750iGrabber installed?
@RTouris
I've noticed the same thing, and have been unable to find a workaround. Once you phone enters the new time zone, all the future evnts are correct.

Well, for one I'm glad it's not my bl00dy setup's fault...I was thinking of reporting it directly to Apple iSync's team, so that they can bare in mind that this has been the case for the last 3-4 years...(as far as iSync and SyncML go back together).. |

Does anyone have an idea why the Desktop charger for my dads P900 doesnt connect to our G4? I know its not the actual unit as it works fine with a PC, Sorry if this has been discussed before, I just didn't want to trawl through all the pages on this post! x
Any ideas would be great x

Presumably you mean connecting for syncing, not just charging?
It's because Sony Ericsson phones use Bluetooth only for syncing on Macs. Get a USB Bluetooth dongle (the D-Link DBT-120 is officially supported by Apple), and iSync will do the rest.

SE chose not to support "wired" connectivity to macs. It's just wireless for now, via Bluetooth. |

Anyone seems to experience kernel crashes using the latest 10.4.6 and K750 grabber? |

Have you tried uninstalling it? Maybe 10.4.6 has actually added support itself and K750Grabber is no longer needed.
Will have to test myself this weekend - I tend to use Bluetooth for transfers...

I'll give that a shot and report back in a bit. it's just that it's a painful procedure to go through with them kernel panics and all...It just breaks my heart.. |

After a few initial tests I can confirm that the Finder still freezes and hangs after fiddling around with the contents of the memory card, so I suppose JoolsG4's stab is unfortunately not the case here...
That's a pitty really, since someone else came up with the grabber for the k series to start with, Apple should really go the extra mile to incorporate some code in the latest point release to make this thing work properly...at least as far as accessing the contents of the memory card is concerned. |

Why is this a SE+Apple problem? I still can not see the connection here.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*
N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here? |

I've checked through the previous 50 pages and I may in my technological ignorance issed a post relating to the following. My apologies if I have.
I have a 750i for awhile now and just plugged it in using my USB on Firday. It all connected properly, Iphoto opened and recognixed the phone and imported after a few faalterings, I think I tried too much too soon. However, it said it was importing my last 2 photos and they don't appear on my machine. Have done this a few times with no joy. I then connected it this morning with 4 new photos (all bar the 2 failings have been deleted) present and still only sees the 2 it refuses to import.
I have no bluetooth on my iMac which runs 10.3.9 and have tried a number of other machines in the company running Tiger, with no luck. Any suggestions? I just don't get why it would stop working when it all started so well? Thanks |
