The XA Ultra phones have never been cheap so it should have a smaller chin and forehead regardless of the upgrades to processor and stuff. I think Q4 sales for the XZ1 and Compact will be poor purely because they didn't trim the bezels despite both phones being great. I don't think you can push these designs anymore for this price. Also, why buy XA2 Ultra when the XA1 Ultra looks almost the same and is half the price? FPS and Snapdragon? I don't think so. |

Just ppl that read tech will drop a phone because of bezel size.
Iphones have same or better sales anyway.
Moto G is still a strong seller.
Galaxy J5 and J7 sell tons yearly. As much as S series.
J3 was #2 in 2016-17 ....
G6 has poor sales, nothing to do with cpu 821.
I doubt u11+ will turn things around fot HTC.
Sony does not sell everywhere.
Many ppl dont even know they make smartphones.
My family does because of mine.
Not only smartphones.. Except PS, there is no other product advertised on tv.
In my city you find XA 2016 series and E5 only.
Z3+ was last high end unlocked around.
Z5 only carrier..
XZ and X never came here...
Many ppl still go to stores and buy their phones.
They do even know they have more options and cheaper prices on internet.
XA 2016 here was about 1800 at first. On Sony website it must be now about 900.
On other e-stores you can get it for 700.
If you go to any department store XA, must be still 1200.
So ppl see that J5 has same HD screen, 16GB. Also dual sim. For 900.
Which one are they buying?
J5... They probably think both are almost equal.
If ppl believe both are similar, they will end up with cheaper option.
Every review a few of main tech site give more importance to bezels than good stuff phone has.
But ignore the fact Apple and Motorola use screen/body lower than 70%.
Androidpit slaughtered XZ1 and XA1. Many sites loved both.
Phone Arena gave 8.7 to XZP and 8.2 to U11, then 8.7 to G6 and OP5.
So the loop that showed up in late 2016 is dated, but to be a mix of iphone 6 and a 2012 galaxy is cool.
XZP is ugly but Z2 Force, i8+, mi6 and P10+ are cute according to many tech sites. |

I totally agree with you Moe87 but sometimes logic doesn't apply, there's no point pushing a hard luck story either because Sony does have its flaws so I say focus on the things that people complain about so that you can give a big middle finger if people still give the trash talk. Sony has everyone licked on performance and speed so its time they raise their standards on camera, audio etc. |

There are points to be improved..
No matter if battery life is good. Small size will push costumers away.
Mainly the 2300 of XA1. It could be at least 2700.
Same for the Ultra, regular ppl will see giant screen and think battery wont last half day.
Design: they should try at least to trim 4 or 6 mm of total size.
But question is...
Is it worth it?
Sony put much efforts on Z2 and Z3. But still lost money.
Probably why z are dead and x are the thing.
USA: most buy Samsung or Apple
China: ppl that can afford less than 500 dollars will buy Xiaomi, Oppo or Honor. Ppl that can afford phones above $500 end up with Huawei or Apple.
India: low ends are the key, ppl buy almost only Xiaomi Redmi.
They started to play safe with X phones, maybe because they realize they should do just enough to keep going.
Galaxy S has many things that could be improved. Samsung does not need to.
They know sales will be great anyway.
Samsung phones are slower than other brands, slower updates, bad front camera, mono speaker, bad place of FPS.
Dual edge screen is annoying to many ppl(I almost dropped my cousin's s6 edge) . It also has slower QC.
Nothing will stop great sales..
Lets suppose this " XZ Pro A" has those specs.
Phone would be too expensive even for europeans and americans.
And what if it cant sell well?
I would like to see them sell at least 21 million phones per year.
Not sure if we will ever see...
Sony is known everywhere because PS, they should take advantage of it..

As a sony fan I am highly disappointed..
In 2018 mid range phones also need to be bezelless especially when the device cost 450 euro..But look at the sony..No design change also bad fps..
Oneplus 5T easily the best ph at this price range.. Upcoming A8 2018 may have small screen but have bezelless scrren, waterproof,same dual front cam and cost same..
Where is the selling point ???Can someone explain me why people will buy this!!
Those gigantic selfie camera with 4k recording??
No way even oppo vivo have solid selfie cam with high screen to body ratio at much cheaper price(ex oppo f5)
Huawei have honor 9i..
Upcoming nokia devices also will be bezelless..Htc also planning a bezel less mid range phablet..
Then Why sony why??Every brand now offer new trendy design but sony still stuck with outdated design..
If it atleast have SD660 and waterproof then price will be justified...
But as of now it just looks overpriced outdated design product..

€450 is bit overpriced..
Btw sony 32×× also have dual front cam,23 mp rear, SD630

About chinese...
I read couple days ago that the chinese ROM is full of advertisement like many apps.
And they get paid for that.
All them have international ROM for their phones.
The back of L2 reminds me xperia c
