Just a rumor so don't jump on me anyone
Apparently XPERIA branding will be retained by Sony and the Mint will be Xperia Z and the Hayabusa will be the Xperia X ("real" playstation phone)
EDIT:
Sony develops new Next Generation back-Illuminated CMOS 8.0/13.0 megapixel Image sensors for use in its phones, shipping in March. HDR Video and Sony RGBW coding

Main Features
* Large-scale signal processing circuits required for higher image quality and better functionality are built-in
* More compact image sensor chip size
* Even higher image quality of the pixel section by adopting manufacturing processes specialized for superior image quality
* Faster speeds and lower power consumption by adopting the leading process for the circuit section
The 13 megapixel sensor with HDR and RGBW coding will be sampled in June so its quite likely the Sony Mint will use this camera sensor when it launches in September
These are the specs on the 3 sensors
・ Type 1/4 Stacked CMOS Image Sensor with approx. 8.0 effective megapixels
(equipped with camera signal processing function)
Sample shipments planned for March, 2012
・ Type 1/3.06 Stacked CMOS Image Sensor with approx. 13.0 effective megapixels
(equipped with “RGBW Coding” and “HDR Movie” functions)
Sample shipments planned for June, 2012
・ Type 1/4 Stacked CMOS Image Sensor with approx. 8.0 effective megapixels
(equipped with “RGBW Coding” and “HDR Movie” functions)
Sample shipments planned for August, 2012

The 'real' playstation phone sounds great, it will be interesting to see what this develops into now that Sony has total control - probably a lot more input from the Playstation team.

According to the leaked document with all the prices it play2 would cost around 500 euro which may be to much. Dunno if people want to pay that much for a phone like that. The original play was way to expensive when it came out |

so...there will be 3 kind of sony gadget that we can assume from the new cam sensors right...
1. Midle end gadget or maybe higher but the specification is not in cam feature line...like playstation phone or walkman phone
2. Flagship phone that have a great cam feature...hope they give xenon in it...android cybershot will be sony's ultimate weapon
3. Midle end or maybe higher that have great cam feature but with lower megapixels compare with cybershot android line...xperia brand will be match with this line... |

Just because Sony have developed these new sensors doesn't mean that they will necessarily use them in their handsets later this year.
I remember they developed the Exmor R sensor in 8MP and 16MP but no-one ever saw the 16MP, only the later developed 12MP module is coming out end of this quarter.
Also its important to note that these new smaller more sensitive back-lit sensors are shipping samples (for development) only in March and they hope manufacturers will have them in handsets by late Q3/early Q4.
I think we can expect a lot of noise at the Sony stand in MWC. They've only got one handset announced for this year's European portfolio. This is probably because they're waiting for the official word on the take-over so Sony can really make an entrance.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

They did, in Japan (S006 and S007) where there is more Sony influence, if we dig into history further, the newest highest MP sensors were always installed on newest SE phones. when the first 1.3mp CCD sensor from sony was announced S700 had it, K750 had Sony's first 2mp AF sensor and module, K800 packed the newest 3mp, K850 also did have the newest 5mp, same goes for C905 until the days of Satio. after that the SE we used to know changed (this also signaled the death of dual front cameraphone design).

New Sony Tablet coming next Month ??? Sony Crystal .

Also in chinese forums there is a rumor that the Sony Mint will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 and feature a 4.6 inch 1280x720 resolution screen.
I don't think Sony would charge 560+ euros for a dual core CPU handset, would they ? Especially going by the very sensible pricing on the Ion and Xperia S.

By then, every other manufacturer would have outed a quad core device, so I don't think Sony will be foolish enough to demand a premium for a dual core device.
Btw..when are the first qualcomm quad core chips expected to be outed? Any idea which one will be coming up first? I guess it'll have started sampling by this time?

The MPQ8064 doesn't have a cellular baseband

Qualcomm's CES keynote took place this afternoon and the company used the opportunity to take the wraps of its new Snapdragon S4 MPQ8064 processor, a quad-core solution aimed at smart TVs and set-top boxes.
This could indicate that it will not be used for phones at all or it will take a while until it is available for mobile phones.
