My wife does the Mail at her work sometimes and every now and then she finds old letters that got stuck in the bag.

If we start this a third time why not just make the decision that all letters will be sent via trackable means.... that way we could post our tracking number after we sent the card for everyone to follow its progress. I know its more expensive that way, but only slightly.

Well yes that's what I did with my package to Tsepz_GP. It got there fine but if your out most postal companies leave a note for you to collect it.

Not all postal services offer tracking abroad, so tracking still wouldn't be possible everywhere.
Otoh, it's a bit sad, to exclude people from this tour, only because the mail at their end is lousy. Maybe members in these countries could sign a card, take a pic of it and then send it to the person, who has the letter atm, to include it in the enveloppe. This way, if it would get missing, it would be this card only and not the complete letter with all the signatures.

Marly, if we just send the card with signature to the last owner of the tour paper then it would not be called world tour. Though the person has sent the card and the other person has also included it and post all papers to next reliable person, the actual world tour paper hasnt been to that country from the first member. Say my country has poor postal service and i would pick my card, signed it and send it to mlife. This way paper tour continues but has paper actually been to India, though we have a card from India. so it doesnt make much sense to me. I think we should simply omit the person from worldtour.

No one should be excluded! I rather have 28 letters missing as to leave one person out. We have the picture, that's what matters. There have been people from countries with reasonable relyable postage services who screwed up and even didn't post a picture.
If it was Ceaser who this was send to I can assure you all that it is an incident. I know he's still waiting for a phone that was send to him in 2009 but i've send him 2 or 3 times a card that actual arrived.

You're right, it's no perfect solution, I only mentioned it, as we shouldn't omit a member from this tour, only because the postal service in his/her country doesn't work well, imo. Besides, looking at the list, this might exclude several participants, so it wouldn't be a world tour anymore either.

Ceaser, you don't need to apologise, when the postal service in India isn't always reliable, this could've happened in many countries and it certainly isn't your fault.
I don't think any of the participants in this thread would want you to omit yourself from this tour.

agreed! no one should remove themself from the tour... heck... Ive mailed stuff within my own country and it has been lost.. so this could have even been the fault of the U.S. postal service... there is no way for us to know where, how or when it was lost. I say we just start again and keep enjoying the photos.

Ceaser, you don't run the mail service it's them that's to blame not you. There was once a postcard sent in the UK in wartime & it arrived 40 years later
