strange.referring to kopstar's post on 1st page, the phone can get around 8000+ on jbenchmark 1 using R1FA030,but now it had been reduced vry much to 6000+ on R1FA035.actually i had done a series of test myself, but i was nt so sure abt my result, seems tht i'm nt alone.anyway i dont notice any lag when browsing thru menus so it doesn't matter much.

Guys, why can't I still update my phone to R1FA030 or 35. I have an unlocked O2 phone but not unbranded. Others seem to have updated on O2 but i'm still stuck on R1EA030.
My CDA is 1201-6331, that would be WESTERN-EUROPE, so why can't I update? |

Hi Guys, how is the battery life on R1FA035 compared to R1EA033? I am currently using R1EA033 and I can get about 5 days of battery with mild use of phone, and about 3/4 days listening to walkman 1.5hr per day.
Also, the guys who reported crazy rebooting issues, is it better on R1FA035?
Your feedback would be appreciated.

@TJC,
battery life is still terrible! roaming on GSM gives me about 2days and 2nights, 48hr with moderate use of walkman and light use of java games mainly texting and little call time.
but im not too sure how that compares with EA033 since i went driectly from branded to FA030.
After few initial random restarts, the FA035 is very steady and handles quite well in media palyer and java games....but if u dont hav any major problems with the EA033, FA035 doesnt really add much i think |

Thanks Pete, ZeneticX, and Sky for your feedbacks. Seems like everyone have a little bit of mix results here. I wanted upgrade because I was hoping to enhance the responsiveness of the phone without losing the battery. From reading forums, many recall the R1FA035 to be faster and gives their w910i an instant-on and lagless UI. However, some others report this is achieved at the cost of random reboots, and short battery life.
This is my first phone from SE, and they really have us chained by the neck with their poor firmwares. |

just for the record, i've had my W910 for about a month now. flashed it to R1FA033 as soon as i got it, then to 035 a few days ago.
i noticed that there is a bit less lag when playing music, but still a ways to go as compared to my W880 which has no lag at all. having said that, i have NEVER had a random reboot with the W910 ever since i got it, and generally average 3 full days of moderate to heavy use, with lots of SMS, web surfing and about an hour a day of music.
so not all W910's are as troublesome as you may think. in fact, i'm very happy with mine |

I am glad that your W910i works as it should for you, but some of us who bought earlier versions of this handset are not so fortunate. SE has released 7 firmwares since the release of their w910i, and the problems that users are suffering from are unacceptable. I understand that phones may have minor bugs and need firmware update to fix for them but these firmware updates from SE actually degrades functionality and usabilty of the phone for many of us. If you don't believe me, you can read the 50 pages of all the users who posted their problems in this forum.
I have read every single page of this forum as well as several other w910i forums, and i find it unacceptable to release new firmwares that cripples our phone and waste our time. Quality control should be done before releasing a phone into the market, not after.

don't worry buddy, i believe you. that's precisely why i let a few months pass before i got my W910. not only did i want to avoid the initial production issues that come with a new model, but more importantly, i wanted to wait until SE had made at least some progress on sorting out some of the bugs of the new A200 platform.
it's still imperfect, but i was able to bypass a lot of the major headaches a lot of people have had. just been burned too many times by being an early adopter i guess... |

In the future, I will be more careful and maybe wait a little longer before I buy new handsets too. Don't want to get burned no more... I really like the concept, style, and design of this w910i, I just don't like fearing from potential problems when new firmwares are released.
May the force be with you. lol. |
