It should restore to your original fw thru itunes then update to 1.1.4 and then ziphone mate.

just restore to the newest firmware and use ziphone, iliberty, pwnage, winpwn to unlock and jailbreak..
use ziphone for now it's probably the easiest...

yeah, I'm happy with ziphone, I'm just concerned about restoring 1.1.3 to a device where I don't know what method it was jailbroken, and more importantly, unlocked.
A bit of googling suggests I should virginize the device first but I haven't yet seen a clear concise method for that and some posts even suggest that may cause a problem
I don't really need to do the upgrade, I'm just the curious type but I'll only do it when I feel I have enough info to be sure I won't spend the next 24 hours fixing it all!

masseur.. it shouldn't matter... the 1.1.4 update will put you back at the start point.
where was it purchased from?
1.1.4 also fixes some 1.1.3 bugs... and has better reception i find...

ok, I plucked up the courage and initially restored it to 1.1.3
after jailbreak/activate/unlock there was no carrier found and in fact the carrier setting was missing from the settings dialogue! I could connect to my wifi no problem... bit scary at this point!
so... I restored to 1.1.4 and it seems all fine now so I'm just synching all my stuff

I've heard from somewhere that Ziphone isn't the best to use because it permanently downgrades some software? Boot something? Correct me if I'm wrong.

do you mean the boot loader beacuse that is one of its down side but it doesnt make a big deal as you can restore it |

In case anyone else wants to turn off edge ect using the latest fw 1.1.4 you can use the app bossprefs from installer.
Services doesn't work with the latest fw, only offering because I got feed up with my data usage going up when I didn't even know it was getting used...
Also anyway to restore bootloader back to 4.6 using a pc yet?

You can install Bootneuter from Installer and run that. Check out the threads on Hackint0sh.org for more info. |

ziphone worked great for me but it took me quite a bit of courage to use it, so I'm sure I'll not trust a beta software to not brick my iphone!
unfortunately I still don't have a mac but I have a good contact for one soon

finally decided to try out the iphone as ma mate works at an o2 store and got me it for £99.... thought if dont like it as a phone i can use it as an mp3 player like a touch lol...and cheaper!
I've unlocked and jailbroke it using ziphone so is there any apps or anything i should know or recommend doing apart from enjoyin it?
