My one is sitting at home waiting for me ..... I shouldn't be too excited given the disappointment of the P990i but in reading all positive and negative comments it seems that the P1 is way better than the P990i.

I got really pissed off by the P990i shutting down messaging all the time on it's own but now that's not an issue. Along with the reported better volume for multimedia and the better camera this should be a vast improvement.

Up until 3 days ago I had decided on the E90, but with the issues with the casing and resident bugs it appears it's not just SE that have problems.

Although I can't forgive them for the mess they made of the P990i and the lack of support for it, let's hope this will be a new chapter going forward. If they could achieve the "perfect" smartphone with the P910i, there's no reason to suggest they can't do it again.

@Koto, How are you doing that?! I don't have my P1i yet but I don't think that's built in to UIQ3 (please tell me if I'm wrong) so in that case, how are you doing it and can it be done on the P1i? I used to use Magic Profiles Pro on the P910i and that was brilliant once I got it set-up but I can't find a UIQ3 equivalent.

Thanks.

I seem to remember from the white paper that the P1i will stream Real Audio. I'm going to give it a try with the BBC Listen Again service.

does it exsist some kind of "firmware-overview" for the P1 on this board? something familiar like the K800 firmware-thread?

If not, what is the latest FW for P1 and how do I do to see which FW my P1 have? *thanks* (and sorry if this guestion/s have been asked before.. )

someone has created a thread here but since we are still on original firmware there is nothing much to say yet

to see your firmware version, from the standby screen just do more and then status and scroll down a bit

or from the main menu screen click more and system information

...and remember its the organiser version that defines your firmware version, not the phone version

Hello,
anybody with a P1, does the Battery say BST-40 and state the 1120mAh ? Can anyone post a pic? Because I want to buy one for my P990 and the pics that sellers post do NOT say BST-40 or the mAh at all.

Thanks

Okay, thanks a lot. I will see what it says when I get the one I ordered, today or tomorrow.
Regards

...and by the way, is it Black or Silver like the BST-33 ? Then you don't need to post a pic [addsig]

I visited the O2 Shop this morning & got my hands on the P1i demo. I dont know but the keypad seems cramped especially with my big thumb. For those with big hands, does the experience improve with time or is it the demo?

I'm 6'4" tall and built like the proverbial bricked toilet. My finger and thumbs are big. I find I've had to adopt a different style of tapping on the P1i. Instead of using my thumb I now tap with my first finger, I find hitting the edges of the keys much easier using this method and my failure rate is getting lower all the time. I'd now say that I'm typing faster than I would on a normal keypad and I'm a very fast texter. After all, we don't type on pc keyboards with our thumbs do we?
