Whatever Materazzi said to Zidane, no one will know (just like we will never know why Ronaldo winked, even if all England claims he was saying "job done").

And insults during a game are common, just mind games. Not real insults.
Obviously Zidane cracked under pressure and Materazzi got what he wanted.

Now Zidane, as experienced as he is, should NEVER take that attitude.
Besides, this attitude from Zidane is not new. He already got suspended for 5 games during his seasons in Juventus for the same reason: headbutt.

Far worse, fairplay is one item taken in consideration when assigning the golden boot... did Zidane deserve it? ... makes you think.

This is what Materrazzi said...

Materazzi spoke in Italian - a language understood by Zidane due to his time spent with Juventus F.C. and first told him: "Hold on, wait, that one's not for a ****** like you." As the players walked forward, Materazzi allegedly said: "We all know you are the son of a terrorist whore." Then, just before the headbutt, he was seen saying: "So just **** off." According to Brazilian TV Rede Globo, a lip-reader claimed that Materazzi twice called Zidane's sister a prostitute. They also think that he said all muslims like him are terrorist.

I dont mind him getting it, he deserved it regardless of his last action, the French president still praised him, so does he's colleages, French and Madrid and the FIFA board, I when you that good it doesnt matter what you do!!!

After the world cup been thru so must I admit that I think Zidane was not the player of the tournament. It was Cannavaro and I support France but that defender was the best in every game he played.
