Saw that when it was first posted. K800 wins for still pictures by asmall amount where n80 wins for video hands down. |

a few comparison shots between k790 and n93:
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n93-cam.shtml
n93 seems better than k790..as according to the review..it's better because of the size of the actual phone unit and not the camera module according to the review..
try to use babelfish to understand the review since it's in russian btw..

well based from the pictures presented from N80 N93 and K790/800 i think by far until now SE phones has been dominating photo realism and sharpness... darn its pretty obvious and if not... then ill guess those who contradicts are NOKIA Fan boys...
anyway ei NOKIA fans, you pretty good at yer vids... keep it up..
well actually N93 samp vids were all jerky at any rate...

Photos taken by K800i are bad because of frimware bug, which causes phone to focus bad to "close view" instead of "distant view" which makes makes almost all photos on that review unsharp... |

oh man.. that one? i think the cam module was set to work well on macro mode at around 5-50cm. and the BOKIA N93 as the review said has the sweet spot at around 20cm. instead of focusing on an area of the scene it sharpens the entire picture... good if i might say so myself but its far as it can get... ok N93 is also good at close range shots... but not panning shots.. and heard about the infinity shooting mode of K800... thats a kewl part of a phone being a digital imaging device...
and also the review sez that K800 was at good even if the firmware is still on beta. man what else could we expect after it finalizes.

I spoke to O2 customer services yesterday and i was told that the K800i was scheduled to be available the week begining 19th June. Dont know how accurate this info was tho so dont hold me to it, you know how clueless some of these customer service people can be at times.
19th of June would be cool tho, just in time to capture those world cup celebrations!!!.....COME ON ENGLAND!!!!! |

This probably mentioned before, but I'm gonna ask anyway - will it be possible to update the K800i with the included cable via SEUS, or is a deskstand still needed? Since I probably will get an early version, upgrades will be needed... =)

You have to remember also that the n93 has optical zoom. Also many of the k800s used in the phone tests are final versions whilst the n93s are prelim versions. |

Are we still comparing the redicolously large brick that Nokia call a "mobile" phone N93 to the sleek K800i?
Of course they can pack in optical zoom and the whole nine yards, in fact they could fit a whole golf course in that thing.

While I highly dislike Nokias, they do have one very very good point. Build quality.
In particular the N-series great build quality. I was handling my mates N80 recently and I couldn't believe how well the phone was put together. Gap tolerence was low, materials were good, nothing looked wonky or like it was going to fall off, and it didn't creak.
Hopefully the K800 will address the poor build quality SE has slumped to in recent times. |

K800i isn't final yet, it is far to be final version, so it's still beta photos, and don't forget that k800i got xenon flash... I prefer Xenon flash over optical zoom. |
