You can download the 6.5 Beta right here. Later this year HTC will officially make it available for the Touch Pro 2
(which matches the specs of the X1), so logically X1 should be capable of running it.

Multicore iPhone coming?

I wonder how Apple would take advantage of multiple cores on a mobile platform? ...and the battery life too?

@WhyBe

Sorry for OT but are you using your X1 with at&t? If yes, do you have the settings to use to configure the internet access on at&t's 3G networks?

Thanks,

Rod

I have the X1i on AT&T. The X1 automatically finds networks and lets you choose which one you want to use. I just selected AT&T and it configured everything automatically.

I believe it is in Settings->Connections->Connection Setup. Also, on that screen, do Menu->Enable Auto Configuration.

Well, I moved from Ohio (1900MHz 3G) to Tennessee (850MHz 3G). So now I have no 3G signal . Therefore my internet is slightly slower (nothing too terrible). Phone call quality/reception has not changed though.

So the difference in speed on the internet between EDGE and 3G are not that significant?

By the way, thanks for all your input.

I haven't done any quantitative tests, but, there's definitely not a night and day difference.

Hi, ive been had an X1 for like 4 months now... and i had just realized that it has a crack on one side of the phone :S... its like just under the volume buttons... and also... the vibrator doesn't work anymore... ive never dropped it, i take really good care of it... i spend a lot of money for this phone, and its not as a good quality as the P990i i use to have...

Do you think this is part of the warranty? :S... because its only been 4 months and i don't use it as much as most of you guys...

And i hate it, because i always take really really good care of the stuff i buy... specially if its expensive...
