Hmmmm.. actually not. They are two very different devices - one is a music lifestyle communicator and the other an enterprise communications solution. Key pads and many other aspects are very different.

I could go for the M600i,but the one and only thing that sets me off this one is the memory, very little memory and we all know memory sticks are xpensive.yet the w950 has 4GB of memory. Now that's massive.Otherwise the M600 & w950 are almost identical except for the memory.

The touchscreen has never been a practical invention as far as im concerned. Unless ur a waitress in a smoky bar and the screen in question is a couple of times bigger than the w950s.

@psychonymphe: All the S700's I see are badly scuffed with paintwork chipped, they generally look in a bad state...almost two years after they were released....come to think of it, were there ever protective covers for the giant? The K800i is already available, depending on which network you're on>>>MTN and Cell C will get their unbranded stocks much later...right now people who got the phone on Vodacom have to either settle with the Vodafone Live branding or void their warranties by debranding.
@jmash: Eish mfana, one year is a long time to wait for a phone. Good luck!
@monkeybiz aka wirelessmonkey: Welcome back to the thread. Seeing you online just reminded me that I need to post some pics in the photo section. Haven't done it in a while.

So we have another monkey in our midst; first the Wireless Monkey (of days gone by) and now monkeybiz.
Welcome to the thread! Whereabouts in SA are you?
I absolutely dig touchscreen input and it's become my firm favourite over the past few years...and I don't think I'd make a very appealing waitress in a smokey bar either...
UIQ3 is where it's at for me.
Yeah..I dig playing with my stylus. |

Well i cant w8 for the k800. I dont like the touch screen, i am too rough on my phones.
About the durability of sony, i can vouvh for the s700 as my bro had one and he is a bit rougher than me on phones. The k700 is also one of the strong ones, as i seen one being thrown out of a 2nd storey window, into the road, being picked up, and switched on again it worked 100%

Yeah jmash; my P900's now nearly 2 and a half years old; a record for me re. length of owning a particular handset, and I have become totally hooked on the 'stick n' scroll' set-up (pardon the alliteration) of these handsets.
I now patiently wait for P990i prices to become more realistic over here.
Hey Monkey-Man ('that can'), I was wondering if there was more than a connection with the username...
Good to have you frequenting these parts again. |

@rhino this is the first time u and i agree. When u have something important to do, in a rush, a touchscreen just has a way of p*ssing one the hell off.
Its just so heavy, perfect for dropping and hitting people with. I dropped it again in the chemist half an hour ago, sending the battery and memory card flying. And with every drop it just gets speedier.
Im with CellC - k800 be available thru them by next m0nth u think brix? Not keen on vodafone crap, i'd rather die than support such unashamed branding. |

@786KBR: I take it you're referring to the W950...October seems a bit too early, I would hazard a guess and say it should be here by December and probably go for around R4500-5000...please don't crucify me, it's just a guestimate...besides I haven't heard anything about either Vodacom or MTN testing the phone.

Welcome back, Mr.A, good to see you're still around.
Horror of horrors, mense, my 6630's MMC packed it in last nite. It's really a standby phone, so instead of hauling out the 6680's old 64mb card i opted to only instal a good file manager and opera mini, using the phone's memory only. It actually runs quite smoothly, much to my surprise, although i suppose sooner or later i'll need to make the time and do a proper installation of all my favourite apps onto the surplus mmc.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious. |

Have to agree with da wanqsta and Rhino...Nothing beats a touchscreen, ok at first it might take quite a learnin g curve but once you get the gist of a touchscreen, especially handwriting recognition, you'll be good to go and write anything you want.
I take it the system on the UIQ3 phones are still the same as in previous editions...top half for numbers and the lower half for letters?
@da wanqsta: monkeybiz is the one and only WirelessMonkey...the dedicated Apple and fiend.
