While waiting for @anish, why don't we guess what's keeping him from posting here. My guesses would be:
1. He's busy fixing his computer again.
2. He's currently being abducted by Aliens.

ok here's a tough one to pass time b4 anish arrives -
There are 3 cans with capacities 19 litres,13 litres and 7 litres. The 13 litres and 7 litres cans are full of water, how can i use these three containers to measure exactly 10 litres ?
No spilling of water is allowed and no extra measurement devices allowed.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence of your attempt !! |

hmm... I'm guessing answer is 9,2,2
Explaination - Seeing that the sum is 13 and seeing that he explicitly mentions "oldest" , i came to the conclusion that he must have one older child and two younger children who must be twins.
Seeing the various combinations of ages which add up to 13, only 3 combinations add up to 13 - 9,2,2 , 11,1,1 and 6,6,1 and since his oldest is not one of the twins, 6,6&1 does not come into the picture
This is where i got stuck for some time, i could not figure out whether the answer was 11,1,1 or 9,2,2 but then i read the problem and found out that the guy could not find out the ages based on the product.
If product had been 11, anybody would have realised that 11 is a prime number and that answer would have been 11,1,1 but since he needed another clue besides the age product, it must have been 9,2,2
Of course if my assumption that they were twins is wrong, i just wasted 5 minutes typing this out

k4m!k4ze you got the answer correct but the explanation is not correct though. for example you said " only 3 combinations add up to 13 - 9,2,2 , 11,1,1 and 6,6,1 " hmmmm what is wrong with 10,2,1, 9 3,1 and so on which adds up to 13? The reasoning should have been there is only two sets of number which adds up to thirteen and then will give the same product, they are 9,2,2 and 6,6,1. That is why he asks for more information and here is where the icecream comes into place as he says the oldest likes ice cream so there needs to be an older child (you got this section correct)and hence 9,2,2 is the correct answer.
Now since you didn't get the whole explanation right I am afraid I am able to give only 1 point for that answer.
That was a good question wasn't it?

@anish - If u see my explaination i have already mentioned that two of them are twins, that is why i left out the combinations 10,2,1, 9 3,1 and so on since they do not contain twin's ages.
Anyway it doesnt matter, i wouldnt want to get an unbeatable score and give others an inferiority complex
@others - u just have to measure 10 litres, doesnt matter which can u use to measure it (obviously, u cannot measure 10 litres in a 7 litre can)
