I have been using my W800i with my Mac (Os X 10.3.9) without problems since I bought it.
However, after recent firmware uptdate with the Sony Ericsson Update Service, my Mac "hangs" a few seconds after connecting it to W800i via USB cable. It seems not to be like the crashing problem resolved using K750iGrabber.
I could:
1.- uptdate to Tiger and use K750iGrabber
2.- reload the original W800i firmware (R1L002), replacing current R1AA008 version
3.- search for an updated driver that works in Mac Os X 10.3.9 and W800i R1AA008
Any other option?
Thank's

10.3.9 is rubbish when compared to Tiger. Don't know why, other than the price, you have not upgraded. There are upgrades built into Tiger via iSync.

Upgrade or Die!
Yes, that's the best option.
Thanks.
[I'm waiting to get some money to buy a new iMac G5, with Tiger included. This is the reason why I'm using Panther yet.]

There is always the option not to upgrade but then don't complain.

Here's a question... I have a HBH-600 bluetooth headset.
Will it work with a iBook G4 with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR? |

I see no reason why not, although for best results you'll need Mac OS X 10.4.4. I've got a HBH-608 and that works fine with iChat and Skype etc.

OK, I'm a twit. I was transferring files over to my w800 and I got overexcited and pulled the cable out without ejecting. Now my iBook won't recognise the phone at all.
I'm sure there's an easy fix (!). Does anyone have any ideas please? I always wondered what happened when you did that, now I know! |

Try restarting the phone and the Mac and see if that resets the connection for the next time you plug it in.

Hi,
I've just got my K750i (an upgrade from my K700i). It's from Orange UK.
I've used a T68i, T610 and the K700i with Macs over the years without a single problem. But I'm having major problems with the K750i! I'm hoping someone can help, since it looks like there's plenty of people who are having much more luck than I am!
The Mac's a Mac Mini. I've tried pairing the two many times, initiating the pairing from both the Mac and the phone.
Perhaps once in 20 attempts, the Mac will successfully complete the 'Set up device' assistant. However, it usually gets stuck at the pairing stage -- the Mac's showing the code to enter, but the phone doesn't even register that a pairing attempt is being made.
Initiating pairing from the phone's equally frustrating. Most times, the Mac never prompts me to enter the passcode, and the phone says that pairing's failed.
On the rare occasion that the pairing seems to work, I still get no further. Attempting to add the phone to iSync gives the error "iSync cannot connect to this device". Likewise, sending files from the Mac to the phone errors when attempting to validate the device.
Oddly, sending a file from the phone to the Mac seems to work without any problem.
System Profiler says this about my Mac's bluetooth hardware (it's the Apple-fitted internal BT interface):
Code:
|
Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 1.7.0f18

My phone's software is:
Code:

(EDIT: My system's running 10.4.4, with all updates applied. I've not used any iSync/AddressBook/etc. hacks on it in the past.)

Do you have access to another external USB Bluetooth dongle that you can try? At least it will determine whether there's a hardware problem with your mini...
Or maybe try setting your phone up on someone else's Mac?
My external D-Link DBT-120 USB dongle returns almost the same info as your internal BT hardware:

I have an old iMac G3 with an external DBT-120. It's running 10.3.9.
It behaves identically to my Mini... Naturally, I'm not expecting (nor no I need) iSync, AddressBook, etc. to work with the old Panther machine, but it can't even pair correctly, just like the Mini.
I see there's a newer firmware for the K750i on the Sony Ericsson Update Site. Sadly, I'm having no luck with it (connecting with my PC). Ii asks me to hold the C key and plug in the USB cable, which I do. The screen changes to say I should release the C key.... but then it doesn't progress. It just sits asking me to release the key before resetting back to the start screen after a few moments.
(I'm using the USB cable that came with the K750... I presume I can update using that cable?)
Cheers! |

Hmmm... sounds like it could be a faulty phone then if it does it on 2 Macs.
I'm afraid I can't help with using SEUS as I don't have access to any PCs to use it, but from what I've read on other posts there's two sets of drivers to install. The usual PC suite plus some SEUS Update drivers... dunno if that's got anything to do with it.
And, yes, AFAIK you do use the supplied USB cable...
Good luck!

Sorry to butt in but does anyone know how I can master reset my P900 then put the applications back - using my mac powerbook (running Tiger)? It's just that my contact pages are crashing when I try to scroll down the screen.
