I don't think the battery power will be a problem.
And I know the price is adequate but in order to bite, iPhone SE should be competitive over price. Otherwise it is hard to win current iPhone users.

regarding battery? Samsung battery wasn't really that good even if they increase the mAh. I've had an Innov8 and the battery was just poor. Same story with U600.
Have you ever used a P990??? |

OmniaHD is. 3.5mm jack, larger screen, already quite a few updates with a major one coming up, huge dev community, HD video recording, also ARM Cortex A8 etc. . .
I wouldn't say that HD video as advantage to omniaHD especially that Satio has the better audio quality in video recording and smoother framerate and oh the huge development community you're talking about? what is it exactly? S60 developers coming from nokia?

Actually razec, the modding community are doing some amazing things with the i8910. Take a look at the forum, omniahd, and see. As far as the video goes, ive just come back from rome and ive shot some great video with it.. It still need's tweaking, but i'm sure it will be. Hardly a disaster is it. . It remains to be seen how many bugs satio will have when its released to the mass's...there will be a few, no doubt. |

Seriously, if the only reason you're not using an iPhone is your dislike of a some simple PC software you rarely have to use, you really are cutting off your nose to spite your face...
You need an iTunes account to buy anything from the Appstore (paid or free) and there's no way you'd ever own an iPhone and never download an app, so I can't see the store registration being quite the big deal you're making out. I'm assuming what you say is true - I just logged into my existing account when I bought the phone.
@boinng
I have no reason to lie here! and whats the "big deal" you mention? I am only reporting what I was told by a guy who had just shelled out good money on the iPhone.
Why would you never download an app?
As for "you really are cutting off your nose to spite your face" I am losing out on nothing by not using iTunes believe me, you cannot believe how happy I was when the GF finally saw sense and got rid of her iPod , no more "Why wont iTunes let me do this" calls,
The lack of a simple drag and drop interface is an absolute joke in an age of digital music, as is the ability to define your own folders I simply cannot see how any sensible person could defend such a shoddy piece of software its a complete joke, we have around a thousand albums her iPod had 8Gb = iTunes FAIL!!!!!!.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

You didn't got the point, did you???
SE's smartphones with a lower capacity battery do not have good batter life, like P990... And then look at P1 which is almost the same hardware wise but has a slightly higher capacity battery and battery life... |

FIRST IMPRESSION OF SONY ERICSSON SATIO

2009-09-14 13:17
In a couple of weeks Sony Ericsson will start the sales of the first 12 MP mobile phone - Satio. And after spending a couple of days with Satio the camera feels like the most positive suprise.
After the delay of Samsung's "Pixon12" it appears Sony Ericsson will be the first with a 12 MP camera in a mobile phone. The MP hysteria is of course exaggerated, but aside from the pixle count, Satio feels really good.
The fact is that during my first days of photographing with Satio I often find myself turning down the pixel count from 12 MP to 9 MP. It feels like the extra pixles do not provide anything in addition, and with 9 MP the pictures become equally wide as the screen, wide screen with 16:9 format instead of the boring 4:3 format.
Even high level
Nevertheless there are several areas where the camera impresses. It keeps an even high level, irrespective of scene and environment. With other mobile phone cameras it is common that only a few pictures gets good. But Satio almost always succeeds to make it right - correct light metering (even with flash), correct color, correct sharpness, and so forth.
The setting possibilities are also good. Beside white balance and a set of different scene modes (e.g. macro and sport) one can also select how the picture is taken. One can take pictures with the normal camera button or with the "smile shutter" or by clicking on the screen - so the focus and light metering is done on the area clicked.
What also feels better than usual is how fast pictures are taken after the camera button has been released. With other words, both focusing and light metering has also become faster.
Tabs on the start screen
The start screen is organized as tabs, each providing different functions like bookmarks to the web browser, favorites etc. Scrolling among the tabs is done by sweeping the fingers over the screen - or by clicking on the tabs. Below the 3.5 inch big screen one can find phone buttons and a menu button.
The system Satio uses is the same as Nokia uses in their touch screen mobiles, and those who have used Nokia's newer phones with touch screen, for instance Nokia 58000, will definitely feel familiar. The main menu looks the same. Same thing applies to the message menu and text input - one can write text via a keyboard on the screen or with T9 on a numerical keypad.
Sony Ericsson has however added the function "conversation", so SMS to and from same person can be gather together under that person. A chat like SMS interface, also found in other newer phones from Sony Ericsson (also exists as the free software iSMS that can be installed on Nokia 5800).
The camera protrudes
Satio is by the way a really good looking phone. The phone screen has good blackness that harmonizes well with the black shell. The screen blends well with the surrounding so to speak. Where the camera is located it is definitely protruding. The phone's basic format is relatively thin, similar as Nokias new media mobile X6 (which probably will become one of Satios main competitor). But the optics of the 12 MP camera requires a bit more space than what can be fit in a thin format and the lens cover protrudes. Still it's not only negative, but gives a bit solid feel to the camera unit.
The Satio we have tested so far has not the final software, which will be finished next week. The phone response feels a bit slow from time to time, but according to information it will be better in the final software.
We will come back with more impressions on Satio later on on Mobil.se and with a real test in a couple of weeks.
Later this week we will also publish picture examples from Satio where we will compare with other good mobile phone cameras.

shouldn't let us discuss that.
Making a phone like that and not putting equaliser to the media player is not 's style.

Well, since Sweden is mostly one of the first to get new SE products, I'd expect it mid october, maybe a bit earlier |
