@DragonEye, are you referring to Insomnia as the multitasking app? The one thats available in Cydia and allows apps (non-app store) to continue running in the background after you've hit the home button...
Also whats the forward SMS app that you mention!? |

Just spoke to Apple Care. They said that I need to sync the phone with my iTunes at home before I can access app store on the phone.
So it hopefully is something as simple as this. |

yes, actually that would make sense as your itunes username details are transferred into the iphone at that time

Yup. Got an account set up.
PS Another question. I thought my firmware was 2.1 as this is what is set in Settings; General; About; Version 2.1 ((5f126)
I'm only assuming this is the firmware. I could be wrong though. |

ah yes ive got backgrounder installed, think it installs with Categories iirc. How does it work? And i take it that it does only work with jailbroken apps?
Nice one for the heads up on bitesms, never actually thought of that although i've had it installed for ages. Gonna give it a blast. . . cheers

sweet i'm happy now... can forward on and delete individual messages...woohoo! So simple, Apple should've implemented something that simple surely. I dont see why they can't look at some of these apps and realise that they should do something about it. Leaving basic phone functions out like forwarding and deleting individual messages is criminal. Anywho its been said a million times before by a million different people...

Well, had a little chance last night to play about with the phone. Noticed some good stuff. But also noticed a lot of bad stuff.
If it's OK with you guys, would it be OK if I started a little "niggles/glitches" topic on this thread?
But 2 things I have to ask for now are:
1) Everytime I make a call I get a message saying "call forwarding active" - even though I have this switched off in the Settings.
I done some Googling and found the reason for this. But can anyone who has an unlocked iPhone confirm the best way to get rid of this annoying message please? I believe it may be possible via jailbreaking - but not 100% certain.
2) If I go into an app - eg Mail - and go into Deleted Items, when I hit the home screen and then at a later time go back into mail I am still at the Deleted Items screen. Is there a way of making it go back to the main Mail screen. This seems to be the case with ALL Apps - Phone, Safari etc
3) OK. Sorry, I lied. Just one more query. In safari, if I search a website and then close the app, the next time I go back to safari it is at the last website I was looking at. Is there a way of making it go by default to a Home Page?
Thanks |

Dont most phones have that call forward active message?I used to get that all the time on my n82.
Also with the mailbox maybe try going back to the main mailbox insteadof just hitting home. It's not like it takes a long time. It only involves moving pressing a key.
I have had mine for a while now and for all those who say after a while you will grow bored of the fancy UI ect...thats BS. I love mine and would not trade it for anything else. I especially love the fact that it's got a battery than can outperform anything else around. I keep trying to rinse out the battery by watching video and surfing and dont even charge it overnight anymore and it still lasts me 2 days. I find myself using emailso much now. PDFs read quite nice on it too.

Bav, I agree it's only a 2 second movement of the fingers, but it's just something that should be added as default by Apple - most if not all other mobiles do this! Most of the times I just check my email and hit the home screen without thinking. Guess I'll just have to get into the habit of going back a screen or 2 first.
But then I'll have to do this to most apps that i use - phone, safari etc!!!
Dicky, regarding the Call Forwarding message. It seems that this is something put in by Apple to just p1SS off people who do not use the allocated networks! So even if you do not forward calls to voicemail you'll get this message come up. I have it switched off in my settings and still get the message everytime I make a call.

@scouser_75
nothing you can do about the "where you left off thing" if anything it's more of a "function/feature" just depends on how you look at it i guess.... |
