@areafada: No-one in the world owns a final release N95...Nokia are probably still sorting out glitches. Some MTN stores have already advertised that they'll stock this device but we'll only be able to get at the most ridiculous price. Seriously, there are better things to spend my hard-earned money on.

@Mamba: don't go feeling guilty, because not all the phones sold at Ladipo are stolen. I actually think less than 5% are stolen. However, I can't say the same about computer village Ikeja.
@Aya: the half price calls on Celtel to Celtel lines being offered is not for midnight calls only. Its for the whole day 2moro. But I agree with u on the lottery angle.

i plan on getting an N95 when it comes out just to play with it.should be out any minute now..alot of people are into phone insurance scams.they claim thier phones are stolen then the phones get blocked. but they will work outside the country so they send them back to nigeria.and they get brand new ones free. or for as little as £20....so it could be possible that the phone was stolen |

So who are the people running these insurance scams? Nigerians? You should hope that some of the closet racists don't read this post because there'll be a lot of backlash.
Just from what I've heard the N95 will be more than $500 when it comes out...so if you choose to insure it will cost you a heck of load of cash.
But I doubt anyone in Europe just "loses" their precious phones to get back at insurance companies, all likelihood is that the phone you are getting relatively cheap in Naija was stolen.

Hit me again: I CAN CALL ON MY CELTEL FOR FREE ALL WEEKEND?
On Celtel: The new bosses sound funny. With Glo and MTN sucking up their customers by the minute, I was shocked to read some weeks back that Celtel WON'T be reducing tariffs. So what is their strategy? Nothing! They must be having a re-think after it was reported that MTEL had shrunk from over 1 million to 700,000 subs.
@Amby: I will dust off my Celtel SIM and you can tell me the story of your life ALL DAY tomorrow.
@Abu: Yeah... the new Esato look... tricky...even finding the reply-with-quote. |

You also need to dust off your glasses, my post read: HALF PRICE CALLS CELTEL TO CELTEL, not FREE

celtel i believe must have lost many valuable customers to glo & mtn for refusing to lower their on-net tariff. i have a celel line & never even use it to call my celtel contacts because it costs same thing calling from mtn to celtel. really bad strategy from celtel i must say. |

I have gripes with Celtel because they made a lot of noise when coming in, but have done NOTHING. Tariffs are not everything; there's innovativeness and unique service offerings. There are services that a company like Celtel can run - even if the fees do not appeal to everyone - that will stand it out, and give it a niche market.
But Celtel offers NOTHING at all to differentiate itself (to the best of my knowledge). No special tariffs, no special value added services. Nothing. Its just an unattractive plain Jane charging the highest tariffs.
Let me pay them the worst compliment anyone can pay a GSM company on this planet: right now, Celtel is very much like Mtel.

ever since mtn took the bold step to champion reduction in tariff, their bad reputation of "Milk These Nigerians" started fading despite the fact that their service is crap. it seems celtel is gradually taking up that rep now. vmobile was much better with advertising, promotions, VAS, tariff & customer service. if celtel is not careful, it will end up struggling with transcorp & mubadala when they start trying to grab market share |
