What is with that? Watching The Batchelor now. How about that: test drive a possible spouse. And it is all glamourized. What kind of mindset does this brainwash into kids? So much for 'original intend' to marriage. This is so screwed up. But then again, to each its own. Who am i to point my finger at something that might possibly screw up a few kids that are too stupid to use their grey matter( or lack of) | |

Ain't that the most ridiculous reality show of all the crazy one's we've seen? Hold up, there's an even crazier one coming soon...eTV will have a show where a group of fat people will have to lose weight to win the ultimate prize.

I didnt say give kids responsibility. I suggested giving them tools to access their conscience.
I think a strong willed individual won't be affected by how adults treat them. I had very conservative parents and yet the movie Thirteen you mentioned described me on and off from age 12 to 16. Some people have to learn the hard way, but the lessons gained are invaluable. Once again, things are shades me grey.

Yeah, we're fascinated with channel 36 but fortunately I'm not watching that crap...I've got other things to do.

Haibo, on a completely different tack- the light fitting and globe in one of the toilets just fell to the floor... The ceiling is over 3metres from the tiled floor, the fitting is still the original porcelain i.e. over 50 years old, yet neither globe nor fitting shattered or even cracked! They said this house is haunted, seems the ghost must have caught them as they fell lol.
@Brix, yebo mfowethu, 80s thru and thru... inbetween dodging the Special Branch, when they used to raid the school, we managed to get some work done, and picked up some nifty values along the way 
just saw on the IOL site that Manto's position seems a tad wobbly... About time too.

As I haven't used my Mobile World sim (Carphone Warehouse's own cheap-rate network)in my T610 after all the seemingly infinite phone calls during the whole house purchase process in April and May, I've now got the 'Inactive SIM' message.
I'll have to give them a call tomorrow and ask them to re-activate it and put some credit on. As long as there's some credit on the SIM, most UK networks won't de-activate a sim, even after 3 months.
A quick mention of sport, really great to see the Boks beat Oz yesterday, even if it wasn't as emphatic as Oz's win earlier in the tournament.
And Schumacher announces his retirement, then Ferrari announce that Raikonnen will be taking his place next year.
Only 2 points separate Alonso and Schumacher now... |

But you know how it goes, there's always something to do on one's own place or things you want to add or modify, but to all intents and purposes I'm a relatively content and happy bunny with what we have, to say the least.
Now it's to save up for that loft conversion...
PS: glad no-one had a 'chicken-licken' moment there ie. that light fitting not smiting anyone on their pates...coulda been nasty.

I remember reading in one of Bob Judd's books about how the average F1 driver would cover something like 100m in the dark every time he blinked his eyes, and how even the minutest slip on the track would cost him hundreths of a second, which in turn makes all the difference between winning and losing... Schumi sure as hell has had a brilliant innings, even though he doesn't blink much lol

@ psycho, i watched 5 minutes of tv today. I dont have time to waste. It was definately a wasted 5 minutes:)
So, what did all you others do this weekend?
I am sitting at a fire once again, with a guitar. Jim, one of my great friends got here today from the uk. Visiting for a while. Welcomed him the african way, with a big ass fire, me dancing around it like a freak while he played some african punk:) everyone has left now, same bunch as friday. Made myself some stokbrood just now. Nice. I love the african sky. Too bad got work tomorrow:( wrapping things up. |

Well i am happy for shumi, now he can start enjoying life to the fullest, spend time with family etc. And this years championship is looking good, with 4 races left and 2 points between shumi and alonso this could turn out to be a mighty impressive ending for him.
Ferrari could also take the maufacturers championship again this year, which would mean they are back on track.

Sad about Shumi, but hey, he got cash, he got a whole bunch of red cars, and I am sure he has a way to use his money in a good way...why not...The end of any chance of me watching F1 GP....
So Neotel says SA's communication costs should be a quater of what it is...Just imagine, paying less than 50c per minute peak time for a cellphone call...R200 for broadband a month, less than 20c to phone on landlines...(or less)...That is cool...I might phone more often and be able to eat aswell...lol!

Found out this weekend, that an 11 year old girl where my GF's mom lives is pregnant. This is where we are at? It makes me think of the child love movement (freedom for paedophiles to do as they wish).
They live their lives like sex is just sex. Nothing special. Everyone should have it. Including babies. This is where we are at?
We live a life where everything that is precious, even the very air we breath, is taken for granted and treated with disdain. Like watching porn. It's all ok when it's a bit of fun, but just because it exists, someone looks at it and says, I'll do the same thing with my kids in it.
We take everything that is precious in this world and distort it. This is where we are at! It's not about culture. It's not about history. It's about respect. It's about treating something precious and fragile with care.
Why do humans behave like animals? How would we explain ourselves? Our actions? We can't. Because very few people care anymore. |
