I don't understand WHY you hate iTunes?! Can you state some points you don't like about it?
Here, I'll list why I LOVE it, and what I don't like
Likes:
* The UI is done VERY well.
* Great organization of Music, Ringtones (when iPhone is connected for 1st time it remains)
* iTunes Store: Music, Videos, FREE Video/Audio/PDF podcast resources, increased by FREE iTunes Universities!!
- incredible wealth of knowledge with podcasts and iTunes U.
* Internet Radio is integrated and is fast to connect online.
* 1 stop application for application purchases, installation, organization & backup of iPhone!
- no OTHER company offers this level of complete sync & backup along with appstore/music/podcast/videos; on the market or currently being conceived publicly.
* TV Shows: Stargate, V, etc etc.
Dislikes:
* Hardly ANY "indie" music sources via iTunes Music Store component; this is off-set by Podcasts/Internet Radio - which I MUST do for serious Jazz (to the likes of Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Holiday; not them but that quality of avante garde) or House (Techno, Detroit, Mimimal, Garage, AcidJazz; non of that Tiesto sh*t for me - although he is now featured along with a podcast).
* TV Shows are VERY regionalized for availability which SUCKS!
* Some features are on Mac not on Windows but its not like I miss them.
* I'd love to see content from around the world: different TV shows/Movies from other countries.

Do you have the iPhone already? Are you considering one? I never thought you'd leave  for another phone.

tomtom sent me an "£8 off anything in the tomtom store" voucher and so that, combined with 8% quidco I decided I'd give it a try.
Ordered it yesterday so waiting for it to arrive.

8X optical zoom.
Princeton Japan just introduced “new” gadget compatible with iPhone 3G/3Gs, the iZoom, but in fact not really new since it does already exist... As you guessed, this is a lens providing an optical zoom of 8x. It comes with a case in order to install the lens on the iPhone. Of course, this lens allows the user to manage the focus manually.
Available at the beginning of December.

still waiting for it, TomTom don't seem to be in any hurry to send it. They say it can take up to 5 days before it gets shipped!

- The UI is not that great
Okay, personal preference here but there is way too much of that boring grey, the font is too small (especially on the download page), multiple drop down windows are so last century (I use Google Chrome - 'nuff said) and the minimised box is next to useless.
- System Resources
iTunes is the slowest program to load on Windows. Basically, people like me who buy PC's usually get one with low to mid-range specs which ends up struggling with the behemoth which is iTunes. If you spend all that extra money on a Mac you get enough RAM/Processor to run iTunes properly I guess.
- Bandwidth Requirements
Not only do Apple assume you have a huge powerful PC/Mac but they also assume you have an endless supply of high-speed landline internet gushing through state-of-the-art fibre optic cable to your home. I mean, all Apple customers are wealthy high-end product buyers aren't they? Somewhere I missed that memo. I like software updates but 99MB (iTunes) to 245MB (iPhone) each update is ridiculous. That's not an update, it's a copy of the whole program with an update in it. Wasteful in my opinion, especially for those using 3G broadband at home. Updating on a 1.5Mbps connection can have your iPhone immobilised for an hour. Add to this that iTunes requires Quicktime which is not as good as Windows Media Player (has more of that awful grey) and is only a bare bones version which costs extra for full functionality, it's just plain rude. Plus if your not looking the update will tack on a Safari download as well.
- Storing my Credit Card details online
I'm sure that somewhere in the fine print of my credit card agreement it says I shouldn't do this, but considering the bank that issued me the card has an iPhone app which I can't access without an App Store account, I guess I'm safe from that particular problem. But I still don't like it. I think it's an outrageous requirement to make just to access the full functionality of the phone. Sony Ericsson are not that audacious!
- Syncing is fundamentally flawed
The Apple principle that you can't update in pieces, you have to download the whole thing again has been applied to iPhone/iPod sync and that really sucks. If I have a new photo to sync, I don't want to have to resync all 700MB of photos but I have to. The same with apps and music. Waste of time. The sync everything philosophy really gets out of hand when iTunes starts telling you whether you are allowed access to your content or not. Often I never know what I'll have left after a sync is done. I get all sort of warnings telling me this has changed since last sync and that has changed - all of this I know already, it is the reason for the sync.
If MyPhoneExplorer had a version for the iPhone all my troubles would be over. It has the best UI and the most customisation of any sync I've tried.

no need to sync you iphone i use a bit of software for my music and my fotos it called ( ifunbox it only for the pc not a mac )

A couple of months ago when I discovered that jailbreaking removes 80% of the iPhones security measures, I was rediculed by iPhone hackers who basically said "so what?". I guess all those hackers are looking pretty silly now that multiple worms are appearing.
The last iPhone firmware update I downloaded (3.1.2) had mostly security updates in it, not a fix for the Voice Memo bug which prevented me from accessing a vital interview recording for an assignment. I guess now that Apple have their first popular computing platform, they now find themselves having to look over their shoulder for exposed security flaws just like Microsoft has all these years.

its not just jailbreaking the phone that allows this issue. you need to ALSO install an SSH program that is specifically designed to allow remote access AND not change your default passwords.
now that you are aware of all this, you shouldn't be too worried about jailbreaking. I'm not.
