I'm revisiting a question I asked a while back. Is BB connect not available for WM6? |

@ Jabe, damn, that does sound like a pretty f'n cool music player. Too bad I didn't find that one first. Not only does Pocket Player support AVRCP; but it also seems to support Meta Data (like lyrics and song rankings!), auto resume, it's skin-able (with winamp skins!), supports album art downloading, a sleep timer, and gapless playback!!! It definitely sounds like the better, more complete music player solution for pure music playing... Still, I do really like Kinoma too (and wish it had all of that other stuff too). Kinoma has a lot of other non music related stuff that Pocket Player doesn't seem to have (it sounds like the better all around media player solution, and seems to have a slightly better finger based user interface IMO). Whatever the case, provided you use either of these instead of the Media Experience Panel, then you should be G to G. I've been using Kinoma all day today (with Stereo Bluetooth) and am pleased to report that my battery lasted ALL DAY (for the first time ever), and that my X1 didn't lock up or freeze on me once!!! I now feel pretty confidant in stating that the SE Media Experience Panel probably is the culprit and source of a majority of a lot of the problems I was experiencing with my X1. I was starting to suspect the panel before this, and my experience today with Kinoma definitely confirms my suspicions. Everyone should stay far far away from the Media Panel, which is a shame really. Hopefully SE releases a software update for it soon...

It will read the sender, the subject and the body of the message:
1) Go to Settings->Voice Command
2) Check Messaging then press the options box
When I go to settings for voice command I only have Calendar, Contacts, Email, Media, Phone, Start Memu and Status to choose from.
I don't have Messaging as an option. Is there something wrong with mine? |

^^^ That's weird. I don't have "Email" in my list, so I'm guessing you should try using that option instead of "messaging." |

SE (and Sony for that matter) are really crap at software - it's always bloatware. (remember sonicstage anyone?) They should stick to firmware and hardware and leave the software to some third party software house that actually knows how to produce working software.
It's the same on A200. Best to use the fantastic freeware KD Player rather than the Media Player. I know it's not ideal to have to go to this extra effort, but I rather source good third party software and stick with SE's great hardware (and on A200, the brilliant interface, the best feature phone UI available in my view).
I guess being a Windows tech I've long ago got used to avoiding Microsoft bloatware in favour of third party (usually freeware) and it's no different for me with mobile phones. I am very cynical about supplied software, such as Media Panel or WMP, which usually serves marketing purposes primarily, leaving usability and performance as poor seconds.

@max wedge:
I always believed that "included" software was always purposely under-designed in order to create a market for improved third-party software. |

^^^ Read my post on the end of page 470 and the one after that.
Messages are only read when they are received.
I don't know about the apparent discrepancy between options available. I'm using the U.S. version.

Yeah right... and the main reason you don't have 30 fps in video its because you now have 384 Mb of RAM... (being sarcastic)...
We might need some pictures to check |
