A disadvantage is that nokia are so focused on bringing phones out to rangoon that they don't look at the smaller details like build quality or software.

But I'd take nokia over samsung. i don't trust a company that makes every appliance under the sun. Rather focus on one thing and be good at it.

@francois: Which version of Esato are you accessing? On HTML Lite and WML you can't post pics.

WRT Nokia, it's a catch 22...they certainly have most of the market sewed up...some would say with inferior phones...but then they've also got the N-series which make up for most of the defiencies of the other models in their line-up. I'd also go for a Nokia over a Samsung but how can you resist when the Korean company are the first on the market with an HSDPA phone.

PS: We're closing in on 7000 posts...bloody amazing considering that this thread started off so slow.

A genuine Nokia data cable like the new CA-53 goes for about £13 here (approx R 170)..R500 is daylight robbery.
Even the most expensive genuine data cable on the market, which acts as a charger as well, is half that price.

And with this we reach post 7000...
@ da brixsta, bet you also wouldn't have dreamed that this li'l monster of a thread that you created would have been viewed roughly 80 000 times in less than 2 years...

@Rhino: Like the wanqsta says, there's no way you'll be paying R500 for a data cable...unless of course you go to a place like Incredible Connection who are known for rip offs. Try and go to the unofficial shops, and also shop around for generics...When it comes to cables I prefer to use non-branded stuff coz it's cheaper and also bcoz I won't feel ripped off. BTW, I data cable should not cost you more than R200, anything over that is daylight robbery.

@da wanqsta: I never would've thought that the thread would reach 7000 posts (aided and abetted by francoislr with his double, at times tripple posts).

"Thank you, thank you!" Says Francois, waving to the invisible crowd, but drawing the attention of Shayne, a work mate...Shayne, al weirded out jumps up and runs away....

Anyway, I wanted to get a Data Cable for my 6220, but get real, that price is way too much, so i used Infrared instead....Now I can transfer using 3 things: my datacable I got with the phone, my memory card, and bluetooth...oh ja, also infrared...that is so connected...

Well, i dont now what is the problem most ppl have with masturbation, i cant see the big deal, as i dont mind talkin bout it... But somehow, for guys to talk bout such things = perverts.
While for girls it is still okay.

Same with sleeping in the same bed. In most cases a guy will get alot of flack if it is known that he slept in the same bed wiv another guy, he gets branded as gay, or a moffie.
BUT when women sleep in the same bed, it is okay

@psychonymphe: I'm in Slaapstad, Green Point to be exact...cool place to live but I'm moving out at the end of the month though.

Since I didn't get any answers from you lot, I'll be messing around with Windows Movie Maker tonight and see if I can make a success of it...I'm thinking of making a movie with my phone and adding a dope underground hiphop soundtrack...something like MF DOOM's Doomsday or Vaudeville Villain.

@rhino, i'll take it ur from potchefstroom or somewhere in the free state. Or maybe just somewhere where appearances mean a lot. Its weird how much people open up once they see ur chilled bout it. Guys esp, they get awkward then its just like a really loud fart was liberated; that moment of crossing the barbed wire into softer terrain. And its a cool place!

Listening to slipknot, god these guys are genius... voluntary brainwashing..

@ psychnymphe,
Now you're seriously speaking my language....Slipknot are indeed genius...9 band members forging such a structured wall of pulverising thrash metal... I was lucky enough to see them live in Birmingham in the UK back in 2001.
And then more recently, Slipknot's Joey Jordison standing in for Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich at such short notice when the guy fell ill during the Download Festival, and pulling off all the whole performance without missing a beat, was also truly memorable.
Slipknot's iconic 'Wait and Bleed', 'Eyeless', '[Sic]' off the first album, 'Gently' off the second and 'The Blister Exists' off the third album (awesome use of snaredrums mixed with those BC Rich guitars grinding out those riffs) are my fave 'Knot songs.

@ psycho, i am in pta, the city of all the bad metal bands. I swear, 90% of the bands here are metal, but they all suck.if you cant do it right, why do it at all?

@ brix, i am still trying to get my files from 3gp to something a little more flexible, but no luck. Either the pc seizes up or it crashes. And the other thing, finding a legal way to do it. Most apps need a little tweaking to work, if you know what i mean. Will let you know what i pull off.

Me and my friends occasionally talk about mastrubation, and the girls just always look awkward when we do, but it is always in good spirit. Like we say, 99% of guys do it, 1% lie.

Nah, haven't had any luck with these *.mp4 files I'm trying to import to Windows Movie Maker...What happens when I'm trying to import the video straight from the phone is that instead of opening as a video file it opens up as audio-only.

It's kinda frustrating but I'll trawl the internet this evening for some tips and tricks.

"Wait and Bleed" must be my all-time favourite. I know it's just a little cliche, but hell is that song good. It makes me want to screamf**kstabkill and die in ecstasy.

You know what really pisses me off, is this whole trance wave. WHAT THE F is that about!? Let's not even talk about the so-called music, that's a waste of time. I went to one and the next morning made an informed decision: no more. To be around a bunch of nodding, tripping people in funny clothes is not my idea of a good time. Oh, and then....... there's the 'music'...
