My battery life is about the same (@yyzxmn). Every morning I start with 100% battery life...

-My Wifi is always ON
-My HSDPA is always ON
-My email check every 15 minutes
- Talk time about 30 minutes - 1 hour
- Internet surfing about 1 to 11/2 hour
- YM quite frequently
- BT headset connected for about 30 minutes

...and in the evening I will have about 40 - 50% left. And at night before sleep, I surf the internet for about 2 hours and still have 20 - 30% left before I charge my phone.

It all seems a good battery life!

I agree. my usage is very similar as is my remaining power at the end of the day. I also use the GPS a fair amount too.

I really think borisisinvin has a faulty unit. The frequent crashes and poor battery use don't seem to be borne out by other X1 users.

After reading the battery usage stuff on here I'm also starting to think that I may have a faulty battery after all... There is no way that I can squeeze even half of the usage that other users are claiming on here, and make it through a full day with my X1.... I screwed up yesterday after I got to school and didn't turn off my wi-fi (damn slow loading connection manager!!!). As a result I accidentally left it on and idling for about 4 hours while at school for the full duration, and after it was already depleted by 30% tbw thanks to using it's stereo bluetooth connection to stream music to my car deck for 50 minutes on my commute to school! When I got in my car to leave while trying to connect it to my stereo I noticed it was on and almost dead! I've been careful not to fully discharge the battery so far (I have it set to automatically shut off after it reaches the 5% mark) and gave it a full charge out of the box when I first got it... I don't know what to make of this all. As to your other post, I used the Stereo Bluetooth connection on my old N95 8GB to stream music to my car deck on average a hour and a half daily with my commute to either work or school (that's including going to and coming back btw) including all of the other usage I mentioned before, and still managed to make it home at the end of the day with about a 20% charge left.

As for the bug stuff you keep mentioning, I'm not quite ready to cede to you on that one. I just haven't heard enough of a convincing argument on here to convince me it's through some fault of my personal handset. I honestly think it's the fault of SE's panel software implementation on top of WM, as evidenced by the half assed buggy as hell Media Experience Panel, and other anecdotal information I've mentioned before that I've found online and experienced personally. I just don't have the confidence in SE's engineers and programmers I once had to unequivocally chalk it up to it being my handsets fault.

As an experiment, I put the X1 aside while testing the C905. I left the X1 on a full battery in standby mode, and it almost lasted four weeks.

Yeah, I'm also curious! I will share.
I'm also very very comfortable with P1 now.
But the offer which they gave me was good enough to try!
Thanks to bider for hint!
My worries are only - how much will I have to tweak it...
Looks like also people like bloob are content of it!
That's how it is, some UIQ users have choosen WM route, some S60...
But S60 puts me off...

I have a question about the diffrent color-versions.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/
take a look at the buttons...xperia-button, ok-button etc.
the font-color is white.

in other pictures the font-color is more gray.....

are there different versions?

Some pictures, like the one you linked to, are Photoshopped.

@borisisinvin, actually I could agree with you about media player panel, maybe they do have memory leak. I'm going by my experience with the media player on A200, which although a completely different platform, also uses a shitload of system resources and is a bit buggy. I actually use KD Player since the media player is so buggy. I use KD Player for music and the filemanager itself for video and images. I rarely touch the media player.

The media player implementation on A200 doesn't give me a lot of confidence in SE's effort on the media panel. My impression is it's bloatware. On both A200 and X1.

It doesn't sour the X1 for me personally since I plan to use TCMP (freeware)or the payware Core Player (if TCMP won't run). With a phone such as WM I tend to expect to have to source my own software anyway so it's no issue to me if the inbuilt stuff is no good. Hell, I've never used Windows Media Player on my desktops or laptops either!

@ Max, yeah there is SO much wrong with the Media Panel, that I could sit here and make a very long list of everything that is wrong with it that would probably take up a whole comment page filled with just bugs and issues... I on the other hand really enjoyed and never personally had any problems with the Sony Walkman Player software on my W850i (a *edit* A100 *edit* platform phone), actually while on that subject of that I quite personally enjoyed it for the year or so I owned it and exclusively used it as my primary MP3 player (I haven't owned a iPod in over 3 years now I think?...), so hopefully now you can impart understand my high hopes for the Media Panel and as a result the huge disappointment I now feel with SE's implementation on the X1 because of all of this?...

On a different note, what has everyones experiences been like so far with Way Finder and Way Finder Earth Beta? I have to say that both pieces of software are horrible, with the latter slowing down (I suspect) and rendering my phone almost useless! I'd really like to give Way Finder an honest shot, however it's both super buggy and has only opened one out of every five times I've tried to open it so far... I also downloaded the Earth Beta (like I mentioned above) on Way Finders site while getting Way Finder to give it a try, and seriously thought something was wrong with my phone afterwards since trying to open it to try it out on my phone rendered it super slow and almost unusable! I've since removed Earth (after two failed attempts at first to try remove were met with a beach ball of death each time, succeeding on the third), and haven't had any of the problems I mentioned above on my X1 since... I'd tell anyone looking for turn-by-turn navigation to stay VERY VERY far away from Way Finder Earth Beta, since it's the devil IMO. What about just regular old Way Finder btw, anyone had any success with it, or used it for an extended amount of time?... Is it just my phone that it mostly refuses to work on? What software does everyone here use for turn-by-turn navigation on their X1s?...
