Nah they're just genuine rather than a trader. Rather like someone trying to get £40 for a 3510i because they don't follow prices nowadays
@awave Nice that you have a T36m! You should hold onto that

@awave You should hold onto that
And post some pics.
Is it the yellow or blue one?
Can you tell, how you got it?
What is the firmwarecode? (statusmenu > * < < * < * )
proto with debug-sw ... I would be proud (and pay a lot) to own such a phone.

@awave,
Tiger is right, you should hold on to that /// rarity of yours & post pics if you can too.
Normally proto's have very buggy firmwares & have a great tendency to crash or malfunction, in any case, could you make normal calls & sms with it?

Yeah it was stated he was an ex-ericsson design engineer or something along those lines.
I remembered that R190 brand new boxed he had. That was a great phone.

I have a 'working' wakaba like the one John (ah_ludwig) actually sells.
No menu, just testfirmware. Only think it can do is: switch on, tell SEARCHING and that's all.
Killspam has a working one (and I finally managed to read out the complete firmware at a short trip to Bratislava, where I had a meet-and-greet with Lead, the programmer and developer of SE Cruiser)
Sadly my unit is actually not flashable, because of differences in the hardware of the prototypes.

Thats a shame. Some working firmware would've done nicely.
So the Wakaba is quite a popular prototype? Still rare, but more popular than most?

yeah don't worry i'll hang onto my t36m! - ok...so......the firmware is: R1A62. lets just say my dad works for e.m.p. and worked on the radio inside this phone (and works on radios in plenty of others too!)....but thats another story...basically someone got made redundant gave the phone to one of my dad's work 'friends' and then he gave it to my dad - and he 'gave' it to me...
i have heard terrible stories of thousands of phones being thrown away - wheelie bin fulls! - t36s, t20s, t18s (and the predocesor to that - the orbital ver.!) - so i hope that this kind of mass-demolition of mobile history never happens again - and i get it instead - mwahahaha!!!
okay then - pics:

Not really, I actually know of five people who owns a wakaba, only one is 'complete' working!
The difference between wakaba and the 'real' prototypes is, that the proto called wakaba is the base for the U100 research-handset from Ericsson mobile platforms. It is/as been used just the same look for UMTS research and development from Q4 2002 to Q2 2005.
Actual platform is U300 since Q1 2005.
more infos at page 15 on http://www.3gamericas.org/pdfs/Ericsson-Bengtsson-031703.pdf
Sadly Ericsson has closed the press-section for mobile platforms.
Former there have been some nice pics of PCBs and also the 'wakaba' U100 in action:

But here it is:

BTW: Very interesting in the information about U100:
Ericsson Wins 3G Award
Sep 28, 2005 - 7:10 PM - by admin1
Ericsson has won a Swedish "Golden Mouse" award for its 3G mobile phone platform.
Sandeep Chennakeshu, head of Ericsson Mobile Platforms, and Håkan Svegerud, senior product manager were presented the award at an awards ceremony held in Stockholm earlier this month.
The award was confirmation of Ericsson's world leading role in mobile phone technology, won by a platform that is the highest selling in its category and has been since its release in early 2004. In that year, more than 30% of the world's 3G mobile phones were using the Ericsson U100 platform.
