@brym: That sounds like a challenge! I too was a jump-up DJ. Our skills must be matched in an old-school face-off!

Hello, is anyone here? All gone for the Xmas break already? or are the ol' school posts disturbing the flow of political discussions?
Ok, back to mainstream...
Well, to date we now have 6 presidential candidates: Yar'Adua,Atiku, Buhari, Okotie, Utomi & Kalu. Truly who's ur choice and why? |

Let me put my 2 cents in. From that line up i'd vote Buhari cos of his past performance and "the devil you know" reasoning. The problem is, i used that same line of reasoning in 1999 voting in obj and was seriously disappointed. I dont know anything about yaradua's accomplishments while gov. I would prefer a gov with a little cred behind him. The rest are jokers. Pat doesnt have pres muster yet. He might've been a good vp though. After 8 yrs if he isnt impeached or thrown out of the party, he could then run |

Of the pack, I think Orji will do well. The other good candidates are in the PDP like Muazu, Makarfi and Duke. Too bad they have been scared into dropping the ball.
But I think Yar'adua will be rigged in. I just pray he rebels against OBJ in the shortest time possible.
Ribadu will be removed by OBJ soon so that EFCC will not send him back to jail after ATK's revelations.
Merry Christmas y'all. No New year resolution for me in 2007. Off to my home town 2moro.

What has happened to the Naija thread? I love politics and all but this pre-occupation with the succession race is driving me off the wall. Do you guys still have issues with your networks? When will 3G/HSDPA services be introduced? Please keep this South African brother informed on the sleeping giant of Africa.

@coola: orji? Ur decision is based on....? I think obj will leave efcc as is, with his boys embedded. If he disbands it, what is to stop the next admin setting up another version without any obj sympathizers? @brix: true 3g services might not come till 2008. There is no momentum at all that way. Even simple 1G services, WASP apps like news, weather & sports, downloads etc were not packaged in an appealling way. |

@angel: MTN's problem seems to be nation wide. I've seem the same in Abj and M'guri these past few week. Back on the political scene, is the Yaradua choice going to back fire? I'm not seeing any zeal of grassroot support anywhere. |

Sorry bro, but it seems the giant is slumbering.
Celtel seems to be the most likely to launch 3G services first. They are currently sorting out bandwidth and frequency issues with NCC.
@All: Merry Christmas and a prosperous year 2007.
Frankly, I can't seem to take a pick from the lot of presidential aspirants, I do not think I will vote when the time comes. None of these six guys appeal to me. |

@Abu: since you've put it so nicely, I'd vote for Yar'Adua, because at least we'll have some peace in the Niger Delta with a Bayelsan as VP.
......I hope.
@Angel: Its really sad that MTN chose this period to mess up, but it seems to be a Lagos problem, cos I received an mms from a friend in Delta state, but cant download it. |
