Delayed 2.1 upgrade when 2.2 is on the cards is a massive schoolboy error, will put many off including myself on going with SE again.. the x10 is already well behind.. as it was when it was launched.
You'd have thought with the iPhone 4 including HD they'd have brought 2.1 forward to compete..
Awesome phone but needs to be with the leaders..
fail.
Sony Ericsson are incompetent fools that dont even understand the basic concept of days, weeks and months.

Took my x10 back to o2 today as the charging problem reappeared. Have exchanged for a new one. No problems this time and the person who delt with the problem couldn't do enough to help.
Hopefully this x10 will be better. Got to wait umtil I get home from work tonight to charge it up.

Yes you can. Its just a standard screen protector. Its quite a thin one as well.

@Indiandawg I found the original screen protector to be the thinnest, most even in thickness and colourless protector I've tried, but it was also the most scratch attractive.

i use my x10 completely naked. i was using clearcoat protection but the discoloration of the material really ticked me off considering my phone is white. it just looked ugly! I can get a new set for the cost of shipping only, but i've been using my phone naked for awhile now and i've had no problems. The only thing is it is a bit slippery at times from hand oils but other than that, it's fine.
not too concerned about the delay of the update. i'm happy with my x10 though i welcome any performance enhancements that will come w/ the update.

I'm using the scratch guard which came with X10 but it's got too many scratches now. Is it possible to take that out or I have to just deal with this?

Seems I was right yet again (No surprise to me of course!) the Froyo upgrade you were all promised has been delayed yet again! so glad I upgraded to an HTC Desire and a Nexus One FroYo is GREAT!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Froyo was never intended for release in Q4, it's Eclair and not Froyo.
It's a shame it's been pushed back, but on the upside we may get something that doesn't have loads of bugs in it. I rather have a nice clean update than something that's going to screw my battery up again, or the like.
What this really shows, and it's been mentioned before is that SE just don't have the resources (or don't want to) to commit to supporting their version of the "skin" on the X10. Timescape and Mediascape and the actual skin seem to the be the big problem here with delivery of 2.1. Although I don't hate it, I think both timescape and mediascape are overrated and I don't tend to use them. SE would have been better of using the stock versions with Android as it's pretty obvious they don't have the resource to pour time and effort into an HTC Sense type overlay.
It's my opinion that without SE's skin we would be on 2.2 by now. |

Dude, have you ever read the topic of this thread? It is something like "X10 official thread etc.." Do you have anything to say for the x10 in particular? Or do you want us to know that you are a HTC happy customer? Congratulations for your choice of picking up the best phone, but keep it for yourself. We don't want more sealovers here... One is enough |

My replacement X10 did charge to the point that the led changed to green and then went out. Battery status did show 99% full. Have yet to debrand this one as i'm gonna test it over the next 2 days. If theres a problem within that time i'll be taking it back and cancelling with o2.
