@02
but wasn't it you who brought up this topic on having "for example EDGE" in the z800 and not the v800.
anyway, one can never catch up with technology...be happy with whichever version you have. if firmware is so important, flash it with the generic SE one when it comes out. if housing is important, change it when they release the "spare parts" |

where would release this 'Z800' do you think?
In countries that support 3g UMTS perhaps?
How many of those countries do have EDGE networks in place as well??
By the way...... seeing as my country currently has 2 operators offering 3G, one being Vodafone, there is always a chance the 'Z800' will not be released here anyway.... unless Orange decides to follow the lead of Orange UK very soon
Apart from the UK and Sweden, where 3 is operating, how many countries already have another operator (meaning: NOT vodafone) offering 3G services to private mobile phones? Which operator?

In sweden we have Vodafone, 3, Comviq (shitest of them all) and TeliaSonera which offer 3G. |

y we always end up talking baut network and services... im talking juz baut the phone.. like.. maybe they add fullscreen playback, menu desktop for external screen, external video playback/pic id, that kind of stuff..

Ahum! We talk about network and services because it's no use releasing a 3G phone if you don;t have a 3G network in place.
Nor would it make much sense buying the phone if you don;t have a 3G network available to you.
I don't understand what you mean by desktop for external screen but whatever it is you're expecting too much. It holds a few lines of text, the usual indicators, the clock and the network operator. With that it's pretty much full... don't count on scroll down menus or anything. The main screen is inside the phone (that's clamshells for you)
External screen video playback would be a total waste imho and I am certain it will never be added.... it's an 80*101 screen fer crying out loud!
Pic ID would be nice. Will never be added by Vodafone though (apparently there's 'privacy issues'... ) but who knows... might?
Generally speaking though, I wouldn't hold my breath for an upgraded version of the V800 to be released... if there is going to be a Z800 it'll be largely the same but non-voda. It will not be a 'Z810' with added functionality. Don't count on it.

possibly a My Friends option I suppose? not sure about that.
And I brought up EDGE purely as an example, not because I expect it or even wish for it right now.

@lynn,
erm, how to connect PC video calling with V800?? Just a though .. PC dun have mobile connection ( unless using broadband,but it's not a mobile line.. )
confuse.. but mostly cannot video calling between PC and Phone. Video Conferencing is ok between PC and PC.. that's logic.. |
