@mwarner: when i goto the camera option it gives a message that sw version is 3.6 & atleast 3.9 is required. I also thought that 3.6 does not exist.
@mrao: yes it is branded(vodafone). Can u tell me where i can find the cable used for debranding. is T28 service cable must or will DRS-11 do? I have downloaded da-vinchi & can get credits for it. Or is there any other way to debrand it here in mumbai (heard there is shop in manish market).

Search the forums mate as this has been discussed all over the place. DSS-20/25 is what you need though. |

It would be interesting to see what software revisions you are using. Find out through >*<<*<* / Service Info / Software Info and post the firmware revision, LCD, Camera and ITP software versions your phone thinks it has in this thread.
SMJohns is correct - the DSS-20/25 is perhaps the best option for firmware flashing, although it isn't the only option!

Thank god....
The SE service people have finally managed to upgrade my fones f/w to R2AT003. cam s/w version is 3.10. Haven't explored it much yet but
ringtone problem is solved + now has search option in phone book + bluetooth conn speed with pc is doubled to 48Kbps.
Think it is going to be worth the trouble  .

Surprised they put on R2AT instead of R2AY but certainly better than crappy R2AE033 !! I am still waiting for the lazy gets to update their SEUS....grrr |

Hiii ...in R2AY004 now you can set m4a:aac & 3gp audio & mp4 extensions as ringtons and alarm and contacts .

After a lot of trials and tribulations I finally managed to unlock and flash my K700i with davinci which previously had all the Vodafone crap. Now everything is slicker and smoother, although the signal strength graphic is pretty annoying with the blue background.
But that is trivial compared to the freedom I have on my phone now! :D
Now I just need to find out how to get FMA working again. :/ |

With R2AT, video playback is bad. Files which played smoothly earlier now skip large number of frames. 
Also it takes about half sec to get the unlock screen from display off (after pressing *). Bluetooth still turns off automatically sometimes.
Reception seems to have improved. But takes almost two secs to go from the answer yes/no screen to the hold/end call screen.
But this version is more useful than the old f/W.

Just an FYI. R2AY004 is now officially out at SE service centers, so you can have your handsets upgraded for free  |

No, I don't think it made its way there yet...Still official SE service centers have received this latest firmware for about 3-4 days now, so I took the plunge and I had mine updated earlier today.
Pros:
-Faster BT reception (50K/sec), broadcast remains the same at apprx. 25K/sec
-Images thumbnails load faster
-mp4s (aac) can now be set as ringtones (finally)
Cons:
-I don't seem to get any better low light condition quality photos as noted by some users here before (camera software ver. is same 3.10)
-Phonebook multicharacter search crash bug still exists
Software version: R2AY004
LCD Current: 200406041
ITP: CXC 125 813 R2C (instead of R1T as noted on page 1)

That was bound to still be there, SE somehow could not replicate it, useless they are!!! |

I have some poblem K700 R2AT:
- Before I flashed phone, When I phoned, it's sound after one minutes.
- The BT speed was ~20Kb/s
After I refresh R2AT:
- Lost the sound per minutes when I phone
-The BT speed is higher ~50Kb/s
It was tw weeks ago!
Now, I didnt flash it, I didnt do nothing, the phone repeat sound per minutes, the BT speed is 20Kb/s! The software is R2AT, didint changed!
Can somebody tell me, what happend?
