Well the cracks have been appearing on the casing not back cover. Also people have reported that the screen has cracked for no reason. One guy on You Tube had his in a protective case inside his bag and nothing else was in the bag with it and the screen cracked. People reporting it all over the net. Hope you got a good one

How about some positive feedback about our new toys except all the dread and despair.

JB installed. It has been a queue on FOTA, but last night it was downloaded by it self. So far nice and smooth. Can't say anything about the battery life yet though.
So now, when will we get 4.1.2?

4 days with it and the only complain is about the screen...
It's not good as I thought...
The greener shade at the low part of screen principally.

@ Tsepz_GP - no i didnt do a format, but i would to fix the lagging issues and sticky menus.
Is it hard to return everything back to how it was after doing so ? apps ? games ? contacts etc ? i just dont fancy spending two hours reinstalling everything on it.
As for battery life, i think the S3 has been a great performer in battery life if you dont use it. But when i do use my S3 i tend to really drive it for long periods of time. I often use my phone at work for 3 or 4 hours when im bored with nothing to do so can quite easily empty its battery within that time. Usually games or web browsing do the most damage, as illustrated by the battery manager in settings. The screen really sucks the battery dry when displaying white backgrounds.

You may lose game data, i'd say buy My BackUp Pro for apps and games if their data is crucial. If you have your Calender, Contacts, Internet (bookmarks) syncd to your GMail in Accounts&Sync then you should be fine. Also remember, Play Store keeps a record of downloaded apps, games etc... so you will NOT have to repurchase anything, just reinstall.
Formatting always helped in my experience, you sometimes find that even after updating that there are little parts of the older OS left messing up the whole experience. When updating from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 on the S2 i had that happen, after a format my S2 ran beautifuly and battery life shot up.

Heh did the old backup and restore thing.
Slight fix to the lagging so a good thing. Now for the bad.
Lost absolutely everything. Google didnt back up a single item, not one thing. Neither did Kies even though i spent an hour backing up this afternoon. Happy ! not.
So much for the check boxes in backup and synching. Thankfully all the pictures and videos i lost i had already backed up using USB to my laptop weeks ago.
Reinstalled all apps, but lost game saves etc.
Symbian was much better at backups.

Thats very odd, WRT Google not backing up, have you logged into your GMail account and gone to Accounts&Sync to try sync again? I've never tried Kies even on the S2, i just dont trust it.
Very sorry to hear that etaab, i hope it atleast sorted out the lag.

I can't say battery life has improved with JB. I experience less battery time. I don't know why, but maybe Google Now is one thing. Looking at the battery consumers I see nothing strange.

Hobbs.
Must say, thoroughly enjoying this on JB, its even smoother than in ICS and although battery life seemed to have dropped in the 1st two days it has now settled is much better than in ICS, WiFi signal got quite a boost in my experience to
Ive rooted my S3 to, dont know why though it doesnt need any tempering, and Google Now is pretty incredible to. What Samsung have essentially done is make an already great smartphone just that bit better, cant wait for multi-window multitasking update

So i take it you prefer it to your SGS2 ?
Ive been tempted to root and mod mine, but its almost perfect. If only it had my N8's camera it would have been the best phone ever made.
