I know I can go and research it....
but you Esato genuises had been there and done it, and maybe are making a YouTube video as I type..
After Jailbreaking, does access to iTunes stay the same? I mean nothing extra to think about..
and.. how are non-iTunes apps installed. I see lots about Cydia Apps, top 10 Cydia Apps etc.
I will also read back to see which non-iTunes Apps are the most popular and why!!
I will read and research more.
PeterKay! Who will take the plunge first? You or I?

Everything stays the same after a jailbreak, all you get is Cydia, so, you don't lose much... Cydia is a third-party app which allows you to download other third-party apps:P its very simple
P.S. Here is some help for your decision: I am 16 years old, and I have jailbroken and unlocked many other iPhone with 99% success, imagine if I broke something, I don't have any money to pay, and my parents would kill me, but I am very confident in this because I know there is always a way to go back and I don't worry if something doesn't work from the first try, I go back to the original and try again, but this time, I pay special attention to every step so I know if I made a mistake somewhere. As I remember, all that could go wrong is just gonna waste your time, but it's fixable:) Hope this helps:)

The update is more than 300MB so 30 mins may not be the upper limit.

Re updating - for me the longest part is generally all the backing up and restoring, but I guess that varies depending on how recently/regularly you connect the phone and Mac/PC.
Haven't done an update on our new, much faster Mac yet, but hopefully it will all be a lot quicker than I'm used to (best part of an hour on our old PC, all told).
Beginning to be tempted by the idea of ebaying my 3G (once O2 have unlocked it) to fund the upgrade to a 3GS, but will I regret it next summer when whatever comes next is released? Probably...

next July is still 8 months away!
I'd worry about that then and get what you clearly really want now
I played with my brothers 3G on Sunday as he needed the firmware updated and hasn't currently got a pc that works. Though I had one before the 3GS, I had forgotten how noticeable the difference in speed was in some actions like browsing etc

Hey, is anyone else having battery issues with the new firmware? Issues meaning, battery drainage? and I always close my applications using SBSettings and I all the open apps have a badge next to them because of BACKGROUNDER, so it's not an app thing...maybe it's just me, but I think that the new fw drains the battery faster

Hey
Yes I did. I just couldn't get used to the N97, symbian is not for me at all.
