oh no...durrr... the penny just dropped on that one! It wont have the option if you've got a 3g iphone plugged in as there's no unlock for it yet
Dont think it'll matter whether you leave the sim in or not. Did my mates 2g one (unlocked/jailbroken) and left the sim in |

OK. Maybe a knee jerk reaction me thinks!!!
Having done the maths, yes I did pay a few quid more than what I would have done if O2 offer the deal on a £35pm contract.
But then my tmobile contract is only 12 months after which I can always upgrade to a newer better iPhone if one is available, or I can just upgrade my tmobile phone and sell it |

is it just me or does anyone else have problems downloading apps via app store using 3g? 9 times out of 10 the app icon just sits there hanging on the springboard and the progress icon doesnt go up, and then it just pops up with a failed message. I'm in full 3g reception as well.
It makes me wonder whether the app store really only works best over a wifi connection |

i reckon it might just be a restriction of the network then and the area i'm in..... like it's not transferring the packets across properly or something.
Has anyone tried Fring yet? Is it good to use as for msn etc? |

Finally, it's here and sitting next to me
I can't believe how excited I still get when getting a new toy to play with!!
Haven't had much time to play with it as had to rush off to work straight after receiving it.
I had a bit of a scare when I first opened the box as I couldn't find the sim release tool (What a pain in the backside that thing is)!! But eventually found it inserted into the small case cover.
Popped my t-mobile sim in and crossed me fingers. And voila it all seemed to work perfect. Made a couple of quick calls. Sent a couple of quick texts. And no problems as yet.
Now just gotta get it all sync'ed up and sort out my.mac email.
Oh and it's already running 2.1 so I may wait a tad till I jailbreak it. Don't fancy ruining my new toy just yet.
PS I only have 19 apps so far (inc phone, mail, safari etc). Are those the default amount that came with the phone?
Will give a better update when Ive had more alone time with the phone.......
Thanks all for your help and advice... and convincing me to get the phone |

finally indeed!
personally, I'm not bothered about jailbreaking any more as there is more free stuff in the appshop than you could ever possibly use
