Ha ha, yeah right. Indeed you are. In that case I think I'll stick to Opera Mini! I guess I expected too much from Opera Mobile, or I'll just have to get used to it.

I just wanted to confirm that I also have a problem with the G900 gathering dust under the screen, quite a lot acctually. For me its coming from the the top left side, and its not that "small" particles, but pretty big ones.

Very irritating, and as it seems like im not the only one with this problem it does seem like SE has a bad build quality problem...

I went to a SE Service Center in Stockholm to get this fixed like a week ago, but they dont seem to work that fast.. hehe.

So, a very nice phone that suffers from bad build quality, what a shame...

Got it..the card, the headset, the phone...all in the box...seems SE made this deal specifically for India...the SE guy told me the offer's for just 1 month..after that the card and headset will be seperate.

They even gave me 2 walkman keychains, 4 SE car windshields, and a music CD won through a scratch coupon...and my name has now gone in the lucky draw for some Chevrolet car...

SE surely has India on Lockdown...seems they've been hit hard by the drop to 5th position..good to see them trying their best to win customers

Seems they've figured out that "growth" is the buzzword of the day - because that means it's possible to push the old products without investing in new solutions, in the medium to long term, or something of that sort. It also means that the existing business- model can be kept alive for a little while longer, while they pretend their business is about to boom again.

I.e., (they seem to be thinking): in the US, they've just discovered mobile e-mail and the web, so that means growth. And Asia is the same, and will boom extraordinarily. And therefore it should be expected there will be more profit in those markets, or else you're fired. But in Europe, you're doing badly because the market is full and lazy, and people won't buy phones at an infinitely growing rate any more and get more than one subscription - so that means there's nothing more to sell there.

I mean - who knew that cynicism and a talent for lying and cheating could be that profitable - if you're high enough up in the system - right? I certainly didn't - I thought the mobile companies loved us and wanted to make the best phone possible if we just wished for it. I mean, wow. Talk about let- down (maybe I should go and "embrace nokia")..

^ ain't the X1 a new and innovative solution for you? Ok, maybe Nokia took a big leap forward with the n95 and se is only playing catch up..but the market is not dominated by only ultra high ends...

SE imo..is taking its time here..maybe the waiting game is long but the x1 shows they have something up their sleeve..they realized that developing a uiq based flagship would take its time...so they tied up with htc for a WM smartphone...to atleast give the people some option..they may not be up there challenging nokia...but yeah for sure they're are making an effort...to bring something new..

If it had been a case of focus only on growth and not on giving the best then the P5 would have been announced on the 17nth...with those sub-par specs..

Talking about the Gseries...its great for people like me who'd like a smart phone with a good cam and don't care about stuff like HSDPA and whatnot data features...and trust me there are a lot of us..so its a policy of one for everyone..and not of concentration on 'Mass'...as you say.

Nipsen, g900 and g700 were actually the only correct thing SE did in a loong time. Sadly, it was not folowed by the other necessary measures

I just got my G900 in Dubai @AED2199 without the M2 card and with a free bluetooth hbhgv435 which is not A2DP ! It was a bad deal but I couldn't help but buy the phone after all the reviews I read about it ! Had to shell out an additional AED150 for the M2 card.......people ask me...couldn't u have just bought the N95 8 Gb for that price ?????

@deepsme, ares: I suppose you're right. It's just that they pour efforts into creating their device- dependent extra- solutions before fixing the things they should - the other problems with the programs they've already included (from the phone- app to the messages), to make the entire UIQ line really good. And instead somehow think they can solve the problem by just creating one good device, with an extra nice application.. Doesn't work, does it.

But I agree the g700/900 look nice. I tried one a couple of days ago - it's neat. I don't doubt that if they didn't have the entire bad wrap from before, and a problem with getting the interface to run a bit more smooth, they would've done really good with these phones.. Besides, the entire "you need 400Mhz to drive a pretty UI" just isn't true. So if they did fix some of the problems, these would all be extremely good devices (instead of just "better devices than the rest"), no doubt about that.

(But then.. I'm not sure why anyone would buy a n95, even if the price on the g- series was higher, either.. I mean, if I had some of the n- series problems on my p1, I really would throw it in a drawer and forget about it. But that depends on the use, I guess..).
