I'll do it on hers first and if that all looks good I'll prob update the firmware in mine to 1.1.4 and run it on mine
edit: why makes me wonder... I don't know how mine was originally unlocked... does it matter if I then use ziphone?

Can I ask one question? Can ZiPhone be undone if it needed to be returned under warrenty? I have heard that liberty can restore it if it needs to be returned but ZiPhone sounds nice and easy and if others have used it then there is a level of support about here. |

Not tried it but from what I know it can restore as if nothing had been done on it.

The thing I was thinking was that I had been told the bootloader was permanently downgraded. |

Do you think they would check that???
They would just look and see if the phone has been unlocked and activated without a contract... Yes or No...???
Not sure... but thats my thought

Very good point Naz, I give people too much credit in the job they do!!! I work in risk so i am always looking for ways that people can get something for nothing.
In some ways i wonder if they would even check if the phone was activiated etc.
Picking it up tonight after work...cant wait i'll be on later.
thanks for the help |

Ur welcome... its easy...
Just make sure you have enough battery charge before doing it... that all and go for it...
You will need itunes installed and the ZiPhone prog and all go...
Takes around 10mins to do...

don't worry now that pwnage is out (on osx) you can restore the bootloader to whatever version you want.. the windows version is coming soon... and it looks like the best solution out there.. that will stay.. since it allows you to make custom firmwares... |

the winpwn beta I'd available now too
Anyway, it seems this £169 deal I'd popular as none of the 2 cpw and 2 O2 shops on my way home have stock. They reckon they'll get more tomorrow though

I wonder why CPW took a day longer than O2 to slash the price of the iPhone? When I got mine yesterday, I went into CPW first and they still had it for £269, so I got mine at the O2 shop for the lower price. When I went in to CPW today they had finally lowered the price.
By the way, I tried unlocking mine using PWner first, which didn't work (kept getting errors when trying to restore from the custom firmware, which is common, apparently). I then tried iLibertyX, which caused me to have a few heart attacks - it seemed to do nothing for ages, so I cancelled. Then when I restarted the iPhone, all I got was miles and miles of code running up and down the screen! I ended up restoring in iTunes and then I moved onto Ziphone. That worked perfectly, although I had to do it twice - the first time it went well, but I had no network signal!
