I just purchased a p990i and live in the U.S. using the T-Mobile network. When I try to update my software it keeps giving me
Phone:R9ea001
Bluetooth:R5a01
Organizer:R4a13
CDA:R4a04
Can someone please tell me how to update to the new firmware |

@all users with CDA /8:
I just updated my EMMA 3 today and users in Singapore with CDA /8 (with Chinese input) can now upgrade their P990 to R5A17. At least they can if they bring the unit to an authorized Sony Ericsson service center. I do not know the status of SEUS as I do not use SEUS myself.

Is there anyone able to update with CDA /6 (Hong Kong chinese version)?
I am still running Organizer R2A05, sigh. I am so close to just change CDA with KulanKendi now. But I am going to Hong Kong this summer (in two months), maybe I should wait until then.
By the way, even though I am running R2A05, my phone doesn't really crash and that's why I am able to stand it still.

i am not able to change the radio station with the help of the button given on the headset whenever i try to change the radio stations with the help of the headset the sound gets muted and when i press that button again the sound resumes again.now is there another way of changing the preset station of the radio thru the headset am i doin something wrong pls help guyz.thnx |

has anyone problems with connecting the P990 (with the last software) on a bluetooth kit car (BMW E46) ? It was working perfect before and now it doesn't pair anymore !!!! |

my P990 works fine with my M5 E60 BT kit, so it should certainly work with the E46 too! It now even syncs the phonebook in phonememory, before it only took the SIM phonebook, so it is very perfect now!
Biggest change with previous firm is now the white progress bar when starting the phone! Plus some gfx being altered, but it is still not sooo fast as some claim IMHO
I did update my P990 (BELGIAN CDA) early may and it has now CDA R6A01, which is not yet updated on the http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/P990i page

Just update my P990 with KK, since my CDA (Germany Generic) was taking for ever and I think I uncover another bug. Can anyone test if it happens only to me?
I didn’t do a restore from a previous backup, so it was a clean phone all the way from SEUS.
I have a pre-paid card, and I have few phone numbers (codes) to access to directly to my operator (Vodafone), to check the amount of €€€ that’s in the card (*#100#), and when is due to do another money reinforce of €€€ (*#101#).
If I deal them from deal screen it accesses to my operator with no problem.
If go from the phone book, (I have them store there), it starts, stops, and them jumps to the deal screen, and just stays there.
With the R4B03 it worked ok, with the latest (R5A17), it doesn’t, at least with me.

Well, forget that bug. Ive just made a restart to my P990, and it works as normaly, and should. (2 days without a restart - this FW as more memory than the one before)
I should ask a new improvement to the main start screen on the P990. It as 2 options, and would get a 3º (just like Windows)
1 - Turn ON/OFF Phone
2 - Flight Mode
3 - Restart
This 3º option would save us to press the ON/OFF button twice.

Yes we wait for R6 upgrade, but for CDA World Generic 1!!! The R6 discussed above is Belgian CDA - different thing. |

guys, i am sorry if i don't read through all posts...i currently have a 2 year old K750i with its famous cam. 2 days ago i bought the P990i which now reached a price level i can accept and the firmware also makes this phone at least good. although there are some flaws which i don't know if they concern the firmware or the phone/hardware itself:
1) the volume of the media player, especially MP3 is a joke! full volume is about 70% or less than what i can hear on my K750i. was it like that before or only with the new firmware?
2) the camera: technically it should be the same module like K750i and the interface seems better. although comparing pictures i took now with the P990i they seem like washed out and wrong colors compared to the K750i. the pics are not a comparison worth! they look even worse than a nokia 6233 which does not even have autofocus...i suppose it's an algorithm matter which came along in the new firmware, which reduces noise way too much and the colors are inaccurate. can somebody confirm that it's with the new firmware or was it always like that? i can post later some pics to show the difference.

If I am not wrong, the "P990 Trade Hong Kong" as it is called in the EMMA 3 system has also been upgraded to R5A17. Just run SEUS on your phone and see if SEUS has an update for you.

Try checking the multimedia volume in the volume properties it seems to change its self at will!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |
