Well, I think I've hit an eternal dead end. I can't register a new account either on the device or on the web site because the PIN is already registered, and I obviously don't know the log in details. I've got the password sent to me by putting in the PIN, but it won't tell me the username, and I haven't got a clue what it would be, it's not my bleeding phone lol

Am I going to have this same problem when I get Marc's 7100x?

Is there any way of resetting the devices username/password?

have a look in options, advanced, service books, and have a look at the email addresses in there..

look for the one that ends in o2email.co.uk and that should be your username

As excited as I got there, no, not even a whiff on an @ symbol in the entire service book list. Look in every 'book' as well, nothing, it's all web addresses and stuff.

If I do a master reset style thing on it, would that help? I mean people sell these things second hand all the time, there must be a way of de-registering them? :/

to de-register it you have to a) either register a new device, that kicks the old one off, b) get RIM/O2 to do it (is a big big pain in the arse)

Hmmm, ok. So with the Pearl I have in front of me, the answer is no, I can't use this particular one for e-mail right now :/

As for the 7100x when I get it, I'm guessing that'll be de-activated/de-linked etc, or else I can just ask Marc on here I guess. Seems odd you can't just do it online or something :/

Well, yeah, but I wanna play lol

So I'm guessing cause this one is registered to O2, and there property, I can't do anything with this one. So should I hope that Marc has link his account to a newer one therefore knocking the old one off yes?

Marc_SE has a BB so I would guess the 7100x has been kicked off yes!

as for the 8100 you have.. call o2 and give em the pin number, they may be able to give you the username if you explain you work for o2 and are trying to demo it to a biz customer or something?
