No, as I said, I tried the "rotate feature" already. It will show the picture correct in the album, yes. But not in the contacts or in the blog or sms. There it is still not rotated, still shows up as landscape.

Correct. Neither turning it in file manager nor doing so in photoDJ will allow it to upload as vertical on blogger. I think of it as pretty annoying and limiting as you will have to enter blogger from a computer afterwards and edit your post manually to turn the picture.

So, another complaint thrown in the direction of the poor se techs...

If and when you are trying to update you Firmware via the online update.

Some people are having Problems with it saying, error communication device error.

This is not a fault with the phone.

The fault lies withyour service provider and how there system works.

Some networks hbave what they call a garden wall or a partial garden wall.

If this is the case, then they may not allow you to go onto the update site.

If you want to let me know what network you use and i will try to find out which ones allow the update.

I can tell you that Orange Uk do allow the update via there network . However Orange k800 have had the software update menu removed. Sim Free phones can still use the update tho.

Any questions please ask.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Just want to report another problem. Hopefully Sony see's this stuff....

Along with some of the other problems reported. I have a new one.

Problem: Shortcuts clear when phone turned off. E.g. The joystick up and right functions aren't mapped to shortcuts by default. If you use them it asks you if you want to map a shortcut to them. After mapping them to shortcuts, turning the phone off then on, clears any shortcuts set and goes back to asking you if you want to set them...

K800i
Network Provider (phone locked to): 3 Australia
F/W: R1CB001

Need more info? let me know.

EDIT: Its intermittent this issue. Sometimes the shortcuts will clear....also, forgot to mention, this is the second K800i ive had and it happend on the first one too.

Does this on the K608i and K610 so maybe this is a 'feature'

Regarding adding pictures to Blogger:

I can confirm that neither rotating picture in file manager or in PhotoDJ will make it possible to upload it as vertical on Blogger.

I found the same bug.

Besides that: did you find out how you can change the blog you want to publish from your K800i to? I didn't find any option for changing the connection between phone and blog, neither in the K800i, nor in blogger. I finished one blog I did with my K800i and now I want to publish pictures directly from my K800i to a new blog.

Those shortcut bugs were apparent on the K750i as well.

I think you have to first DEACTIVATE the shortcut you want to use first, then REASSIGN it. Then try rebooting the phone just to make sure. It should work that way. Hope this helps.

Log in at blogger. On the right hand side, you'll see a headline "mobile devices". Follow the link and you can choose which of your blogs the phone will post to. Create the new blog first, then assign your phone to it.

@darrengf

You seem quite clued up with the K800

I have a problem.. my K800i (O2 UK) will not let me access any games or app's, and when i try to install one it wont allow. In both instances it says "Operation Failed". This has not always been the case, everything was fine up until recently. I did nothing of note to cause this, installed nothing new around the time etc.

Any ideas of a possible fix (tried master reset etc), if not, would a f/w update potentially resolve this

Cheers in advance

I had that problem. The following didn't work
- Reset
- Master Reset
- Speaking to Orange Customer services

What I did was I went to the dealer, showed them the problem and said it was most likely to be a hardware problem (just in case). They put me through to technical support but didn't have a clue what I was talking about, they thought I couldn't download games. When I told them that wasn't the case they gave me a fault code and a brand new k800i. I reckon it was either an app I downloaded or an update on SEUS because it happened immediately after I had done both (didn't check inbetween)

See what this firmware update does for it first. If not, tell o2 it's a hardware fault.
