Have just got home after a long day being wound up. Also had chance to visit my local o2 store which was the cause of most of my stress and being wound up.
Took my X10 into the store (phoned in advance) and explained again what had been happening. Was basically called a liar and I had to wait while the store manager (Eddie, Newcastle Under Lyme O2 Store) took my phones box contents apart and asked why I hadn't used the packaged charger (I already have 3 EP700 Chargers so why should I ??). After explaining why he then turned around and blamed my chargers and my chargers were probably a lower rating (WTF!!!! they're exactly the same item). I basically told him politely to stop being a muppet and to help rectify the problem.
He then decided to put my phone on charge using the charger out of my phones box and using a battery out of a new X10 (he put my old battery in the new X10's box and resealed it )
After 45 minutes wait he decided to come over and bought my phone and charger to me and said "its taking too long. You might as well take it home with you and do it yourself". I said ok and then told him I needed my tariff sorting out cos the salesperson had removed my data plan when they shouldn't have and I've been charged 1 a day for internet usage (10 current total charges). I wanted the data plan putting back onto my phone and the charges wiped as I shouldn't have to pay them (I've now had to pay an additional 5 a month now for 500mb data due to them removing my previous unlimited data plan which is no longer available). He reluctantly did what I asked and then walked away to someone else so we just got up and walked out of the store.
Anyway. I've now charged the new battery and it charges to 99% then cuts the charging circuit off. When the phone drops to 95% the charging circuit kicks back in. It looks like it was the battery that was at fault. Am so glad I don't have to make another trip to the store and come March 2012 I'll be either cancelling or doing my upgrade online.
Hopefully I wont have anymore problems with the phone.
File a complaint with O2, tell them what bad service you had from this weasel! Everyones power mad these day!

@Rookwise
You really need to write and complain about this. They have a duty by law to respond to any complaints made against them. That's disgusting.

Only just more disgusting than the blog post that are putting 2.1 back to the end of October!
Key points for those who can'r be bothered to read it are:
Xperia X10:
- HD video recording with continuous auto-focus for high quality videos
- Upgrade of the Android platform to Android 2.1
- New back up and restore application, with extended content back up
- 5 homescreens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders
- Social phonebook which automatically syncs contact pictures from Facebook and shows when your friends are online
- END OF OCTOBER
Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro:
- Improved Bluetooth functionality with support for sending and receiving pictures, contacts and more
- New backup and restore application with extended content back up
- Automatic synchronization of your contact pictures between Facebook and your phone book
- Improved ways of handling pictures, audio, text and numbers in your messages
- Upgrade of the Android platform to Android platform 2.1

Two more weeks...
I guess at the end of OCT they'll update their blog saying that they'll rollout the updates in two weeks.
useless idiots.
They should just give the hackers the codes to allow them to release their own custom roms.

- 1 & 2 other being recruited
- 4
- 5
- None of the above
Seriously, there is a basic lack of skills and of people

How well do you think can code it? I certainly would struggle with that much coding.
Their original outlay was Q4. They're hitting Q4. Q3 was a bonus. When they said Q3 they said end of Sept which is virtually Q4 anyway. No biggie really.
But they did raise hopes unnecessarily. Hopefully, they'll learn from this not to say anything until they are certain.

That's unfortunate. However, does it effect people making phone calls or sending texts. No.
The more and more comments I read about this "We need Android 2.2" etc... Its starting to get a little annoying now! Its like its a e-penis show off contest!
I've noted the XDA forums are a complete joke now and are full of trolls.
TBH I have though about selling it and just getting a iP4. However, I then think what would I get from the phone and to be honest the answer is nothing!
