@pxthomas: It's probably issues with software, this is the first time have fused UIQ and Walkman. There are also other possible tweeks might want to do to the W950 before it makes it's debut...just the other day they announced a new RDS radio player...so yeah, it's still far off...most probably around November.

@TeenInvader: Being first does not always mean you're the best. Samsung might bring out their HSDPA phone but I promise you when Nokia and SonyEricsson bring out their phones with this feature it will rock.
If you want to see how much Samsung's are valued just check your nearest Cash Crusaders to see how many people actually want to get rid of their phones like the D600.

@ da brixsta,
The UK Summer holiday spans a month and two weeks (late July and all of August)...no luck in us getting double that. I ain't complaining though...
The December holidays are much shorter than SA's (2 weeks here) due to the main annual holiday here being during the usually pleasant UK Summer.
It's kinda hard getting into such a busy, rigid work routine after such a good, lengthy holiday...methinks I won't be burning the midnight oil tonight...
I'm not a big fan of white handsets, but I have to agree that the white M600i, with its blue-lit keypad etc. looks the biz.
I'm still wondering if SE's gonna have any surprises at next month's Smartphone Show, when the P990i made its appearance, but as I've mentioned before, I ain't gonna hold my breath...hopefully the completed W950i will be there...

@da wanqsta: I'm in serious need of a holiday, haven't taken a full extended break since June last year when I went off to Durbs for the surfing contest.
About the upcoming Smartphone Show, I sincerely hope SE announces an improved version of the P990(it should've been cancelled) which would fix all the hardware issues people have with the phone. Maybe they could also announce a M610i which features a camera, quadband with EDGE...now that would be nice.

@ da brixsta,
Eish, I'm pretty damn sure you'll need a serious R&R hol if last June was the last time you had a decent break..
I very much doubt that a P990i successor will break cover anytime soon, even if they are obviously already working on a successor. With all the hype and funding pumped into developing the P990i, and it being so relatively new on the market, they know they would be shooting themselves in the foot,...they'll want to move as many P990i units as possible to regain funds after such an incredibly long development process.
If the successor had all the desired bits and it gets announced next month, how many people would rather hold out for the more desirable P990i successor, which would thus be detrimental to P990i sales?
I dunno, I could be wrong, and if a P990i successor is indeed revealed next month, SE boffins could say that it'll take as long for the successor to be commercially available, thus it wouldn't then hurt P990i sales to such an extent.
I'm no marketing analyst, but who knows....
BTW, I like your idea of a M610i. |

@Kwiksta: It should not be too long until the N73 get's released in South Africa. On myadsdl.co.za they've got a thread where Vodacom guys indicate which handsets are being tested for network compatability and which ones's have been approved.

We went to carousel this evening to go watch a show called hot in the city. Must say it was good. Tasteful with hot chicks dancing. What fun! |

The new SE Z550i clamshell is now available here from some independent dealers like
http://www.mphone.co.uk/acatalog/z550i_sim_free.html
At the moment its priced the same as a Carphone Warehouse-stock W810i (£180-odd= approx R2340), so it should drop to a far more realistic price as the forthcoming weeks roll by.
Mobilefun have dropped the price of the rugged Nokia 5500 Sport by £40, now costing £207.95 (approx R2700).
Like the M600i, strange that not a single UK network has this phone in their inventories...
